I don’t have a lot of ideas for making school lunches fun, but I will be reading these comments. My poor little girl has to be getting tired of pb&j on wheat!

My little boy had half-days at preschool up until now, so I don’t have that much experience making lunch boxes, but my idea of a fun and healthy lunch would be to use many different color foods (carrots sticks, grapes, blueberries, orange slices, etc) and cut sandwiches with a cookie cutter into fun shapes. Thanks for a great giveaway!

Fruit are always a must in my son’s lunchbox. I usually put the fruit in a container that is easy to open and easy to find.

Hi!!!! well im not a mom but I am an older sister I know that my mom always packs us great lunches!!! she tries to stay true to thr health pyramid she tries to always help us by doing portion control. Which is the trick to also not be hungry all the time, and not over eat. She packs half of the plate with healthy vegetables, three deck of cards size of a protein, and a baseball size of grains. When she wants to give us a treat like dessert she packs fresh fruit which also are great for hot days like the ones we’ve had. She always tries to keep our lunches to the closest possible to healthy and nutritional :)

I let my daughter choose from different healthy items. That way she feels in control, but yet I am too!

What I do to make school lunches fun is I write a little note to my son every morning on his napkin. Just a little encouraging note like “Have a great day” or “you make Mom proud!”. I also let him pack his own lunch, that way he feels that he is a big kid and he can do it all by himself!! (With me overseeing what he puts in it of coarse)

I always add a variety of types of food in lunches. A fruit, a healthy snack, and then something a little not so healthy.

I let my dughter choose from a preselected variety of healthy snacks. She feels like she has some control over her meal. I’m happy and she is happy!

My kids are starting to pack their own lunches…but they must always have healthy foods or fruit of some sort. They also like to freeze their go-gurts and put them in their lunches and they stay cold enough and just right for lunch time.
