New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

I still can remember my mom getting on the floor and coloring with me. When she comes to visit, she will often bring coloring books and crayons. Some of the pages already colored with notes from Grandma. I try to take some time to color with my children when we are able to.

Hello! I too, LOVE, the experience of new crayons! However I had almost forgotten just how much. But now that I have my own little, and he’s 2- so very into coloring, it has all come back to me. This is the first ‘back to school’ season I have participated in in years! Needless to say, my receipt from Walmart reflected my reclaimed love for back to school!!!
Thanks!
PS, i already subscribe and have for awhile now… great blog!!!

I loved getting a new box of crayons and keeping them in the same color order that they were in when I first opened the box.

My favorite memory with Crayola crayons is in kindergarten we kept a journal and we wrote a story along with drawing a picture. It was a lot of fun and years later I found it and it brought back all of the good memories of my childhood.

My favorite Crayola memory is entering our local newspapers annual Thanksgiving coloring contest. My parents would give me a brand new box of crayons and I would spend the entire day working on it to make it just perfect.

ah i remember when i was younger and got the crayola box that was plastic and had the built in sharpener, it was the best present ever and i think i colored for hours and hours until i fell asleep. Also I enjoy coloring with my son, he’s a little behind so being a little over three hes finally realizing coloring is fun and that he can draw anything he wants!

I remember hoping my Momma would buy me the 96 pack of Crayons when she bought school supplies. With a sharpener in the end of the box!! She did a couple of times and I thought I was hot stuff. And I love the smell of them, too.

My favorite Crayola memory is coloring. I used to love to color when I was a kid and I was pretty good at it too. I have to admit that I actually still do enjoy coloring and it’s a fun activity for my children and I to do together.
