I subscribe RSS….. I have a couple more days to eat like I normaly do but after New Years I want to start working out and eating better. I have a plan, I take my son to school come back and start walking for awhile. I would love to join 24 hour fitness but its too much money right now.

I’m going to focus more on the SouthBeach diet… we’ve been eating (per this diet) for years….but not “religiously”… So I am going to try to stick more to it…for myself and my family. We like this diet…. particularly because we love choc. soy milk and the southwestern chicken wraps…ohh…and the Louis Rich Southwestern chicken strips! Yum! Those are great to put atop a tossed salad (instead of a dressing) – to add some flavor!
And this diet also helps to reduce cholesterol… so it’s a double whammy!
AND…I got my son the Wii Fit Plus for xmas… so, we have been “enjoying” that… inadvertantly burning calories.
AND…I live in cold & snowwy NY… and both yesterday and today – I shoveled the driveway…versus plowing it… it’s a good cardio!
It was bitter, bitter cold (13 below windchill), but….once I started shoveling… not soon after, I had to unzip my coat cuz I was startin to sweat. lol
I’m also going to start re-introducing dark choc. pieces into my oatmeal (instead of sugar)… great antioxident and sweetens it just enough! (Special K even has a cereal with the dark chocolate pieces in it…and I love that!)
And lastly….ugh….the dreaded workout.
I do the 15-30 min. Dr. Oz workout… when I have time…
I need to try to MAKE time to do it more often. But, 3-4 times a week is good, right? lol

Also wanted to add that….
If/when we do eat out….. 95% of the time we do eat at Subway.
Been a busy week….so we ate there last night.
I always order the BMT sub…. and add in lettuce, tomato, cukes, green peppers, spinach and top with banana peppers…
ALL fresh veggies….
And I get the italian roll…
So yummy….and waaay healthier (and tastier) than McD’s/Burger King/Wendy’s, etc….
And…I love DSM!! Thanks sooo much for all you do!
