Complementing the selection of quality pet food and supplies in Kroger stores, Kroger Personal Finance (KPF) brings together a wide array of quality financial products and services from preferred providers for Kroger customers and their furry family members, including a new “accident only” pet insurance policy for just $9.95/month per pet.
To most pet owners, pets are family too! When pets get sick or injured, most of us are willing to spend almost whatever it takes to get them back on all four feet, but the price of veterinary care does not come cheap. As a matter of fact, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) vet bills last year in the U.S. topped $11 billion. For this reason, pet insurance policies are on the rise.
Kroger Pet Insurance coverage starts at just $9.95 for an accident-only plan and includes plans with up to $12,000 worth of annual coverage per pet. Sign up in Kroger’s stores or online!

we save by bathing and clipping our dog’s nails ourselves

I have always been a dog person, but recently lost my beloved “Harper” (papillon).
So on a whim we let our 4 yr old daughter get a kitten and she just adores him, feeds him, sleeps w/him and so on.
I have always used coupons or ads to get free dog chews for our dogs, but having a kitten is very new to us. I guess I will start searching the ads and internet for free toys for the kitten now.
BTW wish us luck on helping her to raise a very healthy kitten.
thank you.
Oh I follow you in twitter, but I have never heard of Krogers before. so I will have to check out the site.

i used to bring my dog to the groomer every 2-3 weeks for a bath, between his regular cuts. it cost $40 each time! now i bring him to a self-service grooming place and it only costs $12!

My biggest pet saving tip is I groom my own dogs at home and save myself the gas and the money I would spend at the groomer.

I just got a puppy Saturday and so far I’m saving money on the peeing mats. I buy them at the dollar store for $1 and they’re $3.99 at Target.

I save money on my pets by watching for sales on their food and combining the sales with coupons. I also call around to check on prices of food at local stores, which sometimes have it cheaper than the chain stores.

always use coupons for saving

Well, since I have 4 dogs, 1 indoor cat and 2 hallway cats and many many outdoors cats….feed is always on the list of things to purchase…Living on a farm…one has a variety of animals to keep well fed….

I groom my dogs instead of paying someone to do that for me. I also make homemade meals for them to supplement their dry food. It costs less to make it than most of the premium dog foods.

Of course, I use coupons combined with sales to get great deals on my cat’s food. Also, I repurpose a lot of items to use for bedding and even toys. We took old (clean) socks and filled them with catnip and stuffing then tied to give to cats at shelters (via my daughter’s girl scout troop). So, we made some for our cat too.

i bathe my pet..that saves so much

I buy dog food in bulk at sams. I also bought about 30 pkg of treats when Kmart did double coupons, making them 50 cents or less. Now I have treats for a year or so and I saved a ton.

PS..going to a feed mill instead of a pet store can really make the savings add up…we are able to purchase in bulk and it costs about half the price of retail stores…

We used to bring our dog to the groomers more often, now we do most of it ourselves, I also buy my dogs heartworm and Frontline online now rather than out the vet.

We are lucky to have a really great vet. Stay up on treatment, if one gets it they all get it, which is way more expensive.
