November 27, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

Handmade Olive Branch Wreaths

The first thing that struck me about my Lindsay Olives’ Handmade Holiday Olive Branch Wreath was just how good it smelled when I opened the box. Then I was struck by just how pretty it is. I immediately hung it on our front door, but if I’d have received it closer to Thanksgiving, I would have loved to use it as a centerpiece with a candle holder in the center like the photo on their website.

This would make a lovely hostess gift for a holiday dinner, and even better, your gift will also help feed the hungry. Lindsay Olives donates all proceeds from the sales of the wreaths to Meals On Wheels. I love it when gift giving and helping others go hand in hand!

More About Bell-Carter Foods, Inc. and Lindsay Olives
Although they’re now the largest producer of table olives in the U.S., Bell-Carter Foods, Inc. is still a family-run business that will never forget its roots — roots that run deep and wide with the way they care about their employees, the community, the environment, and the olive trees that their growers harvest. And just like the olive tree, they believe in taking their time as they grow to ensure they never lose sight of their values.

I love to decorate my the railing of my front stairs with real greens and lights as it looks so festive. We also hang up real wreaths, swags, and kissy balls on the front of the house. I am so happy the holidays are here and we’re planning to decorate this Sunday! :)

I love to decorate with real pine. I also love to put a magnolia swag on my fireplace. This helps make up for the artificial tree in our house.

I use an artificial tree, we always had one growing up and that really gave me the mindset that I didn’t want to kill a tree for Christmas, I’d much rather spare my lifetime’s worth of trees and have a pretty fake one.

I adore the scent of real pine and decorate with it everywhere–wreaths are my favorite!

I love the fresh wreaths, but the wreath on our front door is artificial. It’s not as lovely, but much more convenient for a busy mom.

We love the fresh wreaths that we hang on the front and back door. I love my garland that I put on my stair railing but I have to admit that it is…….not fresh, um…..or even real for that matter.

Everything we have is always fake because my mother is allergic to pine/evergreens. So I think an olive branch wreath is intriguing….(and lovely).

I became a fan of yours on Facebook! Also, we have always had a fake tree. We had hand-me-down trees for the longest time and finally got our very own last year. With seven children, fake is the best way to go for our family. One less thing to have to worry about caring for! As a child, bubble lights always adorned our Christmas tree. We have one that we always put on our tree now. No garland.

For the time that we have our real tree that is so wonderful to walk in the house an smell the tree. But growing up my parents would also put a fir swag up the banister railing of the staircase. I always liked how that looked and smelled as you walked up the stairs to go to bed.

For now we have an artificial tree. It has its downsides, but what it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in convenience!
