Shabby Apple Black RosetteShabby Apple Midnight Garden
You’re sure to find a figure-flattering and occasion-appropriate dress on Shabby Apple.com. I don’t know about you, but I’m always wary of ordering clothing online. Not so with Shabby Apple’s Fit to Flatter. I love that they have a large variety of styles, and they will help you choose the perfect one just by answering three simple questions that will help identify the most appropriate style for your shape.

Shabby Apple also delivers Couture with a Conscience. They donate 5% of their net profits to providing micro-credit loans to women in developing countries. If you can swing it, please consider donating an additional $5 at checkout. They’ve almost reached their goal of helping 500 women this year!

More About Shabby Apple
After years of not being able to find stylish dresses that covered enough skin to make you really feel comfortable (without wearing a tank top, cardigan or long slip), owners Emily and CK decided to do something about it. Shabby Apple is proud to offer you fantastic dresses that allow you to look fabulous without having to compromise anything else.

I’m still young enough that I can get away with Forever 21. No, the clothes aren’t terribly high-quality, and I wouldn’t build my whole wardrobe from there, but they’re the best when I want a piece that really pops.

I check with trendy consignment stores where I can get name brand clothes for about a quarter of the price and sometimes the clothes still have tags on.

Since I’m petite I can’t go into any clothing store and find something that fits me well. Most stores don’t have a petite section, except online. I got a Banana Republic credit card so I can shop online in the “petite” section and get free shipping. Along with it I get offers and credit rewards for discounts. I’m also able to use it at Gap and Old Navy and get free shipping from there too, which is now where I usually get my quality discount clothes.

Suprisingly I love Salvation Army. Most of their stores have a “boutique” selection of nice clothes and they have great sales like 50% OFF the entire store.

Luckily we are a simple family. T’shirts, jeans and simple wool and cotton sweaters and pullovers. We get our T’shirts for 9.99 and less at Target and Old Navy. We shop the clearance racks religiously at JC Penney. After Xmas we shop the clearance sections of LL Bean and Lands End.

I love shopping at Dillards when they have their clearance marked an additional 50% off. I get great clothes for super cheap! They are always last season, but when you can get shorts $5, it doesn’t really matter. I get all my kids clothes this way. They are name brand, and cheeper than Wal-Mart!

  28. Heidi

    November 28, 2009 at 12:44 pm

I always buy clearance from last season at rock bottom prices.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
