Bottled Up Designs
Olive Hoop Necklace
Who knew that old, broken glass could be turned into such beautiful jewelry? I get tons of compliments on my Olive Green Hoop Necklace. People are shocked when I tell them it came from a vintage wine bottle.
Therein lies the true beauty of these pieces. Each one is utterly unique and has its own personal story behind it, which is included with each jewelry piece. The only problem is you’ll find it tough to choose just one item with such an array of styles and colors.
More About Bottled Up Designs
An avid glass and bottle collector, Laura Bergman spent countless hours poking through the many old glass and bottle dumps scattered throughout the natural wooded habitats and rural farmlands in Pennsylvania. However, seeing the beauty and the history in the broken glass left behind, decided to pick up the pieces and turn them into something beautiful again.

Oops, I meant to mention in the last post that I love using old egg cartons to hold small amounts of paint for my daughter to finger paint with. They keep the colors separate (until she mixes them all together!)

My daughter who is 6 is always making stuff out of our container of stuff to recycle. She is so creative and of course gets me involved too.

My 4 year old son really loves making things out of large boxes…we’ve made a play house, fire truck, and other fun things. We also try to create art projects out of old cd’s, (great tops using can tabs), cans, cereal and tissue boxes, (fun buildings for his cars). Then we store a lot of them in old diaper wipe containers that he can decorate with markers, stickers, etc.

We recycle or reuse everything…I hate to throw anything away…or see anyone else throw stuff out. One of my favorite things to do is go to our county landfill where they have an area called “too good to waste” to see what I can create from items ready to be tossed.

Would like this beautiful recycled necklace!

I reuse the glass jars from Yankee candles by cleaning them out and filling them with a dried lavender and rose petal potpourri that comes from my garden.

I recycle lots of things — both crafty and practical. For example, I save fliers that are blank on one side for my kids to color or use as homework scrap paper and to print out stuff we don’t need to have blank on one side. I also save bits of ribbon, buttons, etc., that come on packages or turn up somewhere to use in craft projects. Thanks for the chance to win — your necklace is beautiful!

I reuse gift bags. I always fold up the tissue paper that came with it and store it right inside the gift bag so it’s ready to go when I need it.

Mainly I just recycle in a bin, but I have made a step stool for my toddler out of an old pepsi crate.

I recycle everything that I can. I probably save 2 bags of trash each week by recycling at my house.

I like to turn coffee cans into rattles by throwing in some dried beans and taping everything up. A PAT rep told my friend that it’s great to take formula containers, cut a slit at the top, save your old milk caps, and let your older baby practice putting the caps through the slit. Put tape around the sharp edges.

…would love to have this beautiful recycled necklace!!! Very nice :)
