Here's another fantastic coupon. Get $10 off any Juniors Fashion purchase (PDF) at Sears! No minimum purchase required, so surely you can find something you can get FREE.

Expires 11/14/09.

(Thanks, Coupon Dad!)

I'd suggest printing lots of copies and hurrying to Sears if you're a regular juniors dept customer. It's a PDF and good for 2 months - you can use one on every $10 chunk of your purchase. Hmm...I wonder if that's their strategy for handling their behind-the-times image: get teenagers or their moms into the store despite the image thing.

The coupon looks so fake though! ha ha I'll give it a shot!

There is a minimum of $10 that you need to purchase, even though the coupon doesn't say it. I tried to purchase a $9.99 sweater this morning and it wouldn't let me. Just a heads up.

Just used some here in Spfld MO... the lady at the register took my 9.99 shirts and raised them up a penny. I got three free shirts for my SIL's 16th birthday.

So you can use more than one in a single transaction? Or did you have to split it into 3 transactions to get the 3 free shirts?

Also, does the total have to be $10 before of after tax for it to work?

Thanks!

It's $10 before tax and if you use it on-line it won't cover the shipping. Anyone know if you can use multiple coupons in one transactions? It would be much easier that way.

I just read the print and it said not valid with any other coupons or discounts.

I just got back from Sears (upstate NY) and was able to do 4 separate purchases, though it HAS to be over $10 after tax. I picked up a lot of $9.99 shirts, but couldn't get them (well I could, but since I couldn't use the coupon, I didn't). I had to finagle items up to $10. I spent total out of pocket $6 for 2 pair of jeans, 5 shirts and 1 pair shorts for my niece for X-mas. I printed more and plan on going back to pick up some $12.99 shirts and stretchy pants for my niece for X-mas. She is going to love her package this year! Tons of clothes for minimal amount of money. Thanks for this awesome find!!!

just got back from my sears and they wouldnt let me use it. told me it was for online purchase only!!! that bites.

I'm pretty sure there's a boys juniors section as well, Erika.

I'm sorry they turned you away, Paula. It seems pretty silly to say it's online only. Why is there a barcode on it then?

On the coupon it says that it is not valid on catalog orders or outlet stores so I am assuming that it is to use in the store. Tara, it says if you are ordering on line to use the coupon code and then again one would assume the bar code is for in store purchases. Paula might have gotten a cashier would misunderstood the coupon. It says right on the bottom, sales associate: if you are unable to scan manually enter the coupon number. Paula, I would go back if I were you. The same coupon is in the new Seventeen magazine and it says right on it vistit us today.

Does anyone know where the original (printable) coupon originated, and for whom it was intended?

Reply

17 Tara Kuczykowski September 15, 2009 at 7:51 pm

That is the original printable coupon. If you look at the URL of the PDF, it's hosted on the sears.com website. This was a promotion that was advertised in Seventeen magazine.

Right, I understand that the coupon is coming directly from Sears - I didn't word my question clearly. The coupon link is clearly a click-through - where did the click-through originate? I've looked on the Sears.com site and the Seventeen.com site and haven't found it yet.

My cashier let me use 14 coupons!! I had to do a different transaction each time, and she even bumped a few items up to $10 so I could use the coupon. I was able to get 24 items for less than $7. I gave my last two coupons I brought to the cashier and she was thrilled. I just lost my job, so I am going to keep going back until I get everything I want!!!!

I got 3 shirts for .83 and am going back!

Good coupon. I just wish they had more that wasn't so tight to the skin.

I loved the coupon. I had a few problems when I went to the register, but afterwards everything was fine. I realized the stiuplation behind the coupon, so i just had to stratigize a little more. I went to the clearence rack, and I bought a pair of pants for $8.99 and a shirt for $ 2.99 , so that bought me over $10.00 and I only payed $1.28 for my haul. I am going to go back this is a great way to get end of summer clothes, or even just stock up on some great winter clothes. I will be passing it on to everyone! Thanks for the coupon!!

the girls at my store today told me according to her manager people are "misusing" the coupon and that Sears is considering stopping the coupon. I dont know how true that is but you might want to use them now.
I had a bunch of trouble using it... but went to a different Sears and had very little. Guess it depends like always where you go.

Are they still accepting the coupon anywhere else? B/c I went today and they told that they're not accepting the coupon anymore..waste of trip :(

I just used the coupon at my local Sears here outside Detroit granted it wasn't the first one I went to today but... I'm hoping tomorrow they are still accepting the coupon because I want to get all my daughters Christmas shopping done.

I just went to use the coupon and now its scanning as expired :( the manager put it through but now thinks its been retracted. I am so upset about this companies like sears should know that people would be all of this coupon adn that its not fair to just take it back. I think they just didnt think this through.

I went to the Sears I was successful at yesterday night. The coupon came up as expired... then they told me only one per person at all. I and another women tried explaining it said per transaction and when I called this morning corporate told me the same thing one per transaction.
Anyhow it sounded to me that sears is starting to stop the coupon.
anybody else have the problem.

If Sears has retracted the coupon, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. It's sad that they don't learn from their mistakes instead of frustrating shoppers over and over again.

Just got off the phone with Customer Service... was told basically they are retracting the coupon. I basically told them exactly what you said Tara. They told me they "didnt expect the large turn out"

Reply

31 Tara Kuczykowski September 17, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Really, they didn't expect the large turnout?!?! That's nuts. I almost think they do it on purpose and then retract it when they reach a certain amount of redemptions. I mean it's supposed to be valid until 11/15, and it's barely been 24 hours.

I went this morning and it came up expired but the manager put it through. I came home to double check that it was a valid coupon and read the above. Just to see I checked it out online and it still works but shipping for a $6.99 shirt is $6.25 not such a good deal.

My husband just used the coupon on 2 pairs of pants... at first they (store manager) told him it was for online only. So he left & called me w/the bad news. I pointed out to him the instructions on the bottom to the sales associate to use, so he went back in and they said he had a point. He said it didn't scan or work entering the numbers manually, so they just overrode it. Now I see all of this trouble posted here. Glad it was used for 2 pairs of clearance pants for $2.08!

I called Sears retail customer service line and told them they lost a customer over this coupon. A company that size either has internal marketing employees or uses an outside agency to advertise it's sales and coupons. Not one of them thought to mark the coupon for one time use or online only? The customer service line was that it was intended to be an online coupon, yet it had instructions for the cashier and a bar code and was printable from their website. When I pointed that out the CSR said she realized that but that's what she was being told to tell people. It's sad they would frustrate consumers in times like these. I can only imagine the countless people who will try to use this over the next month or so, only to figure out they can't use it after they get to the counter. Sears won't be seeing me or my wallet in their stores. They CSR offered me a coupon for 10% off. I told her they could keep it because I won't be back.

Hey nicole, how did you do it?. cuz I called the # u gave, and the representative said I would have to talk to the store manager. They don't have anything to do with it. It's up to the retail store if they don't honor the coupon.

Has anyone used the actual tear out coupon from Seventeen Magazine? I used the printable last night and although they ran it through, it did come up as "expired". I have to go back that way today and was going to use the magazine coupon. I hope they don't give me a hassle about that one.

My mom & I went to use our coupons today @ the Florence Mall in KY but they would not except them. So we had them call the manager and he said the coupon was only intended for internet use. Sears had sent out a corporate email to not except them in store. He said they were possibly "fraudulent"?? I did go online to order something w/ it but the shipping was $6.99 for a shirt. The shipping had to be paid out of pocket so nothing from Sears, with this coupon, for me. :(

Sears, sucks and have not right to take away the coupon, I hope That Sears loses all their customers and goes bankrupt. They are liers and need to be put out of business. I will never shop there again and will make sure I tell everyone just how sorry , Sears are.

I'll agree that this promotion wasn't well-thought-out on Sears' part. They could have put tighter controls on distribution, such as requiring registration before being allowed to print one coupon with an individual barcode, or registering to receive one coupon by mail, etc. But, given the rampant abuse, I really can't get angry at them for yanking the coupon once they realized their error. On other forums I read, folks were bragging about walking away with hundreds of dollars in free merchandise in one day by using 20 separate coupons for 20 separate transactions of clearance stuff. Regardless of how loosely Sears worded their coupon, we all know that's not right. The purpose was to drive business, not give away the store. So, in the end, if I'm going to be mad at anybody, it's the folks who abused a loophole in the system and caused the feeding frenzy. Sears had no choice but to stop it the only way they could.

I agree with you there, Christine. However, I do think some of the blame lies with Sears as well. This has happened time and again with their coupons, and they could easily come up with a better solution for distributing the coupons instead of frustrating and disappointing those people that want to use it legitimately.

I was turned away yesterday at my local Sears. I called the customer relations line at 800.549.4505. (when pompted choose option 5) and told them what happened. They offered to mail me a $10.oo gift card. It doesn't make up for all the cute outfits I missed out on, but it's a start! Give it a shot.

THEY ARE ACCEPTING THE COUPON FROM THE SEVENTEEN MAGAZINE!!! My friend and I went to jewelry to pay, b/c that cashier looked the most friendly, and I knew we may have problems with it. We both had our coupons in our hand when she sat her clothes down, and the cashier told her "we aren't accepting thoses coupons right now b/c we have had some difficulty with them" We both said we didn't want our things, and turned to leave. I then asked if she knew when they might be able to take them, and she didnt know, and said but they are taking the one that come out the magazine, and I did have one!!! So, I got my dress and my friend asked if she could use my coupon too, even though I only had one, since she couldnt use the print out. And she let her. She was nice, so I wasn't mad about not being able to use the print out.

The manager in Bethlehem PA showed me the actual corporate letter the stores received yesterday...due to "fraud" the coupon was retracted. Yes, there could be a better way of releasing a coupon, but the people who use 14 coupons during one visit (even if it is separate transactions) definitely abused the system. Don't get me wrong, I printed a couple with the intent of maybe going once per week to find a cute shirt for my daughter, but if the cashier was aiding and abetting multiple purchase, no wonder Sears pulled the coupon. What's to stop people from using 20 coupons a day until November?
