Bestselling New York Times and USA Today author Brenda Novak has a new trilogy coming out this summer, Department 6 Hired Guns.

The first book, White Heat, follows two Department 6 operatives as they investigate a Christian cult, Rachel Jessop and Nate Ferrentino. Rachel had previously thrown herself at Nate, a situation that makes working together uncomfortable, but more so considering they’ll be going undercover as husband and wife. Investigating a charismatic cult leader in the middle of the dessert alone with only each other to rely on will prove to be interesting, especially when Ethan takes a liking to Rachel.

After reading Chapter 1, I’m hooked. These novels are sure to grab your attention and keep it there, bringing you along for a suspenseful ride. In addition to writing, each May Brenda Novak runs an online auction through her site that raises money for diabetes research. She is the mother of five and is married to “the love of her life.”

    i love true crime books… and the occasional trashy romance of course… I use to live in NY and would read all of Sydney Sheldon’s books on the train to pass the time… they were great!

    I don’t realllllly have a ‘type’… If a book is well-written, I’ll give it a try… Lately, though… I have noticed that I am more ‘drawn’ to YA books probably because there is more story and less smut… ;-)
