On facebook. I make a pot of lentils with ham (nitrate free) once a week. Usually have it over brown rice or quinoa. Quick and easy.

One week every few months I prepare a whole bag of dried beans overnight in the slow cooker. I do a different kind each night for 4-6 nights. Next day I strain them onto a cookie sheet to begin to freeze and portion them later into freezer bags. I do a different kind each night. Then all I have to do is grab a portion when I cook. It’s cheaper than cans and tastes better.

Hi Deal Seeking Mom!
We make beans in a soup, whether lentils, black beans, red beans or the mixed bean soups. Either way my whole family loves beans, even our kids…in fact their favorite is black bean soup over white rice with a little parmessan cheese sprinkled on top. Good source of fiber and protein and they love it!
Elinore
Our favorite is red beans and rice!
