    We bake a cake and hide a button in it. Everyone makes a wish on Christmas Eve night, and we sing happy birthday to Jesus. Afterwords, we eat the cake and whoever finds the button, their wish comes true.

    These days family adventures mean myself, my adult children, and their children! We have been to reunions, theme parks, visiting other states, hiking, etc. It is fun and because we are together it costs less. We have become closer too.

    We like to take small road trips that are “off the beaten path.” We’ve come across some GREAT U.S. history and also have discovered numerous little parks.

    One day a week we have family day where we watch movies together, play games and have a picnic (on the living room floor if it’s rainy outside!)

    I think some of our adventures our special just because they are traditions for us. There are events and festivals that we go to every year and everyone looks forward to doing it together.

    We go on a family vacation (cruise) every year with all 4 kids, their spouses and grandchildren. It is something we all look forward to every year.

    One of our family traditions is a special birthday breakfast for family members; the birthday person gets to choose the place and then gets a surprise for lunch and dinner. We all get to try new places because we all have different tastes, but we are discovering new favorites too!
