Win-It Wednesday: The Couponizer (5 Winners!)

June 16, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

I’m always looking for new and improved ways to organize my coupons, so I was excited when Amy Bergin, creator of The Couponizer, asked if I’d like to test drive one. The first thing I noticed about The Couponizer is that it comes with everything a beginning coupon user needs: spiral-bound coupon booklet with coupon pockets, coupon-sorting pad, shopping list, savings tracker, scissors, and a handy clear plastic pouch to store it all. This is a fantastic way to get comfortable with using coupons and learning what works for you as far as sorting and storing them.

Now I’ve mentioned in the past that I use the file-by-insert method, so you might wonder how a product like this could work for me. As it turns out, it’s actually the perfect supplement to my current method.

I’ve always had a hard time organizing my printable coupons and other loose coupons that I receive in the mail. The Couponizer is great for sorting these coupons that I have a tendency to forget about, and it also has pockets for my store loyalty cards, as well as folders for storing coupons I plan to use in a given shopping trip. There’s also a folder for coupons to use at checkout, so you can move them over when you actually place the item in your cart, and a folder to store expiring coupons so you can make sure they’re used in a given month.

Five lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Couponizer!

Through 7/31 you can get $1 off any order at The Couponizer. Just enter coupon code SUMMER10 at checkout!

To enter, tell me how you store and keep track of all your coupons. Do you have a binder, a coupon wallet, a bag?

I use a binder with the plastic pages you use to hold baseball cards. I also have a zippered case I keep in the front for loose coupons and my scissors. In the back, I have a 3 hole punched folder for circulars. I have some page protectors that hold store coupon policies. I organized the sections by type but I might go alphabetical someday.

I just started couponing, and pretty much have a non-existent system. Right now, my small coupon collection is sorted by expiration date in the side pocket of my purse, where there are a couple dividers so I can sort out the store-specific coupons or the ones I’m planning to use that trip. This looks like a system designed for the way I want to coupon!

I have 1 according style folder and then 2 more see thru little bags that I made my own index lables for, but this one sounds much more organized.

My coupons are in an old file box that you would use for recipe cards!! It has dividers but most of my coupons end up just dumped in the front of the box. I have always been curious about Amy’s coupon system. I desperately need an upgrade to my system!

I keep mine in an trapper kepper that I used when I was in junior high. It works okay, but is too big to take to the store with me. I have when I see something on sale that I need and I didn’t bring the coupon with me.

I keep my coupons in a large envelope and then frantically look for them in the store while my oldest son asks if he can have every other item in the store.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
