Win-It Wednesday: TerraCycle Back-To-School Prize Pack!

August 18, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 496 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches, yogurt containers, candy wrappers and more end up in dumpsters and landfills across America. TerraCycle’s mission is to recycle these items into affordable, eco-friendly products. They’re making “upcycling” trendy with their adorable backpacks, binders, and lunch boxes!

Want to get paid for your trash? Join one of their FREE Brigades and TerraCycle will pay you per piece for sending them your non-recyclable waste materials.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a TerraCycle Prize Pack that includes the following:

  • Capri Sun lunch box
  • Billboard laptop case
  • Honest Kids 3 ring binder
  • Paper pens
  • (2) Capri Sun pencil cases
  • Capri Sun small tote
  • Doritos backpack
  • Circuit board coasters
  • Circuit board picture frame

To enter, tell me how your family gets environmentally friendly. Do you recycle as much as possible? Have you given up paper towels and instead opted for good old-fashioned cloth?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

If you are reading this in your email or feed reader, please CLICK HERE to visit the original blog post to enter. Email entries will not be counted.

Methods of entry:

1. Leave a comment. How does your family go green?

2. Join the TerraCycle community on Facebook. Come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve done so!

3. Follow @DealSeekingMom and @TerraCycle on Twitter and tweet the following. Be sure to come back and leave a separate comment with the link to your tweet!

Enter to win a @TerraCycle Back-To-School Prize Pack worth $100 from @DealSeekingMom: https://bit.ly/bo8InM

4. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email. You must confirm your email subscription for it to be a valid entry! Leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

Prize:
(1) TerraCycle Prize Pack (ARV $100), as described above

This giveaway ends at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19th and is open to all U.S. residents 18 years or older. I’ll use Comment Contest to select the winning comment. I love that a lot of frugal things are green things too! Like reusing food containers (we make lots of crafts), walking to work, composting, and buying things in bulk (less packaging).

We recycle all cardboard and plastics. We’ve started a compost pile. And I breastfed for 15 months to reduce the amount of bottles, bottle liners, formula cans, etc. going into landfills.

We recycle what our small town will take! And when there’s clothes I just cannot get stains out of, they become rags.

We have been trying to get as green as possible at our house! I pack the kids lunches in reusable containers, we use reusable water bottles and we are trying to use more cloths instead of paper towels. My next step is wanting to use cloth napkins instead of paper, but right now I have a broken foot and some little conveniences are going a long way!

We recycle what we can at the curb (it’s free!!) & what they don’t accept we take to the other recycling dumpster down the street. Both kids are learning to look for the little triangle. & I’m slowly getting everyone to use cloth napkins…unless we are having Chef Boyardee—there is no way those stains come out.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
