Win-It Wednesday: Sony Vaio Netbook + F-Secure Internet Security!

September 29, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 2,278 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

With school back in session, more kids will be online than ever before doing homework, looking up information and playing educational games in addition to the hours spent on Facebook and emailing and instant messaging friends they would normally do. Keeping them safe as they browse is important, so you don’t have to worry about what websites they’re clicking through to and you can protect your computer as well from viruses and other internet threats.

F-Secure’s Internet Security 2011 features Browsing Protection to keep viruses, worms and spyware at bay, not allowing your children to click through to those sites. There are also advanced Parental Controls so that you can block sites with inappropriate content and keep your kids safe.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Sony Vaio 10″ Netbook and 1-year of F-Secure’s Internet Security 2011!

To enter, visit the F-Secure website and then come back and tell me one thing you learned about staying safe online while you were there.

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

If you are reading this in your email or feed reader, please CLICK HERE to visit the original blog post to enter. Email entries will not be counted.

Methods of entry:

1. Leave a comment. Visit the F-Secure website and tell me one thing you learned there.

2. Join the Deal Seeking Mom community on Facebook for more conversation, additional deals and a peek at the freebies I receive in the mail each week. Come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve done so!

3. Join the Deal Seeking Mom Forums to chat about your great finds, special coupon codes, and chances to win exclusive giveaways. Come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve joined or that you’re already a registered user!

If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

I learned from the website that being a social networking site user there is great benefit from installing F-Secure Internet software to prevent from spreading virus/worms to my network of friends when sharing videos for example. It is also important to do security updates on my browser to prevent this.

I learned that I have to use caution while shopping or browsing on public wifi. I will be sure to look for secured sited, and also remember to save shopping or banking until I’m on a private computer and network. Technology is second nature to most and we have to always stay alert and not fall for traps.

I learned that one of the first things you should do if you think you are being infected by a virus is to remove the connection to the local network. Makes total sense!

I learned how many people leave very personal info on social networking sites. It amazes me that there isn’t more identity theft.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
