My four-year-old daughter took one look at the sparkly and colorful cover of Shoe-La-La! and proclaimed that we must sit down and read it immediately — we’ve now read it 462 times in the past two days…

Well, maybe that’s exaggerating a little, but she adored it from the start, and she’s probably asked me to read it at least that many times! That said, it really is a great children’s book, and I love that it inspires kids to get creative and think outside of the box.

Meet four girls who love shoes: SHOE-LA-LA!

“Shoes with zippers, Shoes with straps, Shoes with buckles, Shoes with taps”.

Prance from page to page in search of the perfect pair of party shoes. Girls of all ages will love to go on a shoe shopping expedition with these four friends, from “fuzzy boots for when it snows” to “ballerinas on our toes.” The girls try on every shoe in the store, but “eeny, meeny, my, oh, my [they] just don’t know which shoes to buy.” With some feathers and glitter, a little bit of glue, and a LOT of imagination, the girls come up with the best shoes of all!

    My favorite shoes are a pair of black Doc Marten’s MaryJanes that I picked up at Ross’ for only $15! My daughter has an identical pair (same size, too), so we had to put our initials on the bottoms with Sharpie to tell them apart.

    I have some JCrew skimmers that are a herringbone trouser material in grey with a little green bow at the pointed toe. In those shoes I kick butt!

    My favorite shoes are a pair of 4 1/2 inch Coach platform boots that look uncomfortable but are amazingly comfortable. Love ’em!

    My favorite pair of shoes are a 3″ Coach teal strappy sandals with a silk flower on the toe. They make me feel great, every time I put them on – plus I got them for a GREAT price!

    I have a pair of magic sandals that I love. They really aren’t much to look at just a rubberish looking sole and some straps on top to hold my feet in.

    But they are the most comfortable things in the world and never wear out. For the first two summers I had them, I wore them every day because they are so comfortable and there was seemingly no wear on them.

    I actually had to break down and buy another couple of pairs, just so I wasn’t wearing the same shoes every day.
