My four-year-old daughter took one look at the sparkly and colorful cover of Shoe-La-La! and proclaimed that we must sit down and read it immediately — we’ve now read it 462 times in the past two days…

Well, maybe that’s exaggerating a little, but she adored it from the start, and she’s probably asked me to read it at least that many times! That said, it really is a great children’s book, and I love that it inspires kids to get creative and think outside of the box.

Meet four girls who love shoes: SHOE-LA-LA!

“Shoes with zippers, Shoes with straps, Shoes with buckles, Shoes with taps”.

Prance from page to page in search of the perfect pair of party shoes. Girls of all ages will love to go on a shoe shopping expedition with these four friends, from “fuzzy boots for when it snows” to “ballerinas on our toes.” The girls try on every shoe in the store, but “eeny, meeny, my, oh, my [they] just don’t know which shoes to buy.” With some feathers and glitter, a little bit of glue, and a LOT of imagination, the girls come up with the best shoes of all!

    My favorite pair of shoes are 4″ pumps hot pink with black heels that have a chain lacing the heels like a corset, and a black Mary Jane strap with studs on them. So chick rock!

    I love sparkly shoes! My favorite pair of shoes are purple sparkly sneakers I had as a kid that I wore everywhere. My Mom loved them so much she kept them, and still has them since they really epitomize my style as a ten-year-old.

    My favorite shoes are my Nike running shoes that are silver with some white and blue. They are so comfy.

    So many shoes to choose from… But my favorite pair is probably the sequined black/silver ballet flats I have. They are so cute. The sequins are “reversable” so as I’m wearing them the shoes actually change from black to silver, almost makes them look 3D sometimes. They are super cute!

    Hello! CHACOS! is my favorite shoe. I love that I can wear them in any season of the year! Rain, snow, and warm weather as well. They are snug to my foot. Great arch support. Also, they can go into the washer and they are fresh and clean again. I love my Chaco’s! I do have other shoes, but in any given moment I have a chance to wear my chaco’s I will!
