Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

We love toys that foster creativity and independent play, and the Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen certainly fits the bill! Gummy Lump sent us this gorgeous kitchen for my girls to try out, and I’ve been regularly “dining” on homecooked gourmet lunches and snacks courtesy of my two daughters ever since.

The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is very sturdy and spacious, and I love the bright colors and design, especially the retro cherries. It was shipped in two separate (very heavy) boxes, but it only took my husband about an hour to put it together. I suspect it probably would have only taken half the time if he’d had a little less “help.” You know the saying about too many cooks…
The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is currently on sale for $199.99, plus you get FREE shipping! Also, when you buy 3 Melissa & Doug Play Food Sets, you’ll get the 4th set FREE! No coupon necessary.

Love Melisa and Doug wooden toys, they’re so sturdy and cute. My daughter has a wooden pull frog that sort of hops as he’s moving, and she loves him!

We love wooden toys! My dad is a talented woodworker and has a whole book full of plans for wooden toys. Our favorite toy so far is a big cube with different activities on every side, plus one of those windy things on top where the little balls can be pushed along the different paths (for some reason having a really hard time accurately describing it!). We’d love to add this to our collection!

My person fave wooden toy is the home made wooden abacus I made for my daughter, but her fave is definitely the M&D Decorate a Cake toy :)

Our favorite wooden toys are actually a box full of discarded wood trimmings that our wood working neighbor across the street shaped and smoothed for us. All sorts of shapes in all different sizes provides for some imaginative play!
