Win-It Wednesday: Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen from Gummy Lump!

July 21, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

We love toys that foster creativity and independent play, and the Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen certainly fits the bill! Gummy Lump sent us this gorgeous kitchen for my girls to try out, and I’ve been regularly “dining” on homecooked gourmet lunches and snacks courtesy of my two daughters ever since.

The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is very sturdy and spacious, and I love the bright colors and design, especially the retro cherries. It was shipped in two separate (very heavy) boxes, but it only took my husband about an hour to put it together. I suspect it probably would have only taken half the time if he’d had a little less “help.” You know the saying about too many cooks…

The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is currently on sale for $199.99, plus you get FREE shipping! Also, when you buy 3 Melissa & Doug Play Food Sets, you’ll get the 4th set FREE! No coupon necessary.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen from Gummy Lump!

To enter, tell me if you have wooden toys in your home? Do you have a favorite?

We almost bought this kitchen last Christmas, but ultimately decided that we couldn’t throw almost all of our kid gift money at one thing.

Our favorite wooden toy is probably M&D puzzles

We have several wooden toys, but my favorite is a Melissa & Doug counter/shape stacker that has circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, and octogons in increasing numbers (1-5) that you match onto pegs. It’s my favorite, because my son has Autism, and instead of matching the shapes and colors, he spent forever spinning that silly circle! He was so cute chasing a little red circle all over the house! It’s a wonder we still have all the pieces… :-)

We got the wooden train set for our two boys a few Christmases ago, and it is still one of our favorite toys! My husband and I love helping them build different train tracks, and each is always unique! LOVE LOVE LOVE their products!!!!

We have 2 wooden toys that are used by the kiddies quite a bit…. One is a little rolling packard car that someone put a lot of time into making and it was bought by my grandma for my 1st child and is still going strong with my 3rd child. The other wooden toy is so cute and was picked up at our local Sunbelt Expo, its a duck on a stick that when you push it it moves and it has little feet that make a noise just like ducks when they hit the ground. I absolutely love it. I wish they had more wooden toys to choose from they seem to last a lot longer and it makes it harder for my kids to tear them up. Of course if you have biters they use them for cutting teeth.
