Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

We love toys that foster creativity and independent play, and the Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen certainly fits the bill! Gummy Lump sent us this gorgeous kitchen for my girls to try out, and I’ve been regularly “dining” on homecooked gourmet lunches and snacks courtesy of my two daughters ever since.

The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is very sturdy and spacious, and I love the bright colors and design, especially the retro cherries. It was shipped in two separate (very heavy) boxes, but it only took my husband about an hour to put it together. I suspect it probably would have only taken half the time if he’d had a little less “help.” You know the saying about too many cooks…
The Melissa & Doug Play Kitchen is currently on sale for $199.99, plus you get FREE shipping! Also, when you buy 3 Melissa & Doug Play Food Sets, you’ll get the 4th set FREE! No coupon necessary.

We don’t have very many wooden “toys”; puzzles from melissa & doug, a stool that was customized for my son… That’s about it. Love the puzzles, they are very good for our children’s little fingers and they learn so much from wanting to complete them and then talk about what is on the puzzles.

My favorite wooden toy is a small truck that I used to play with at my great grandparents house. They have since passed, but it brings me great joy when my daughter bypasses the bright colors and sounds to play with the simple brown wood truck.
