Win-It Wednesday: Little Debbie Prize Pack (10 Winners!)

March 30, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

If you’re like me, you noticed a few weeks ago that when the St. Patrick’s Day green was put away, the first thing to hit the stores was Little Debbie spring-themed snacks on the end caps of the aisles and at the registers. You can almost tell the season just by watching the Little Debbie selection at the store, something that hasn’t changed since I was a child.

Right now on Little Debbie’s Facebook page, you can enter to win their Million Smile Mission for a chance to win the grand prize of a 16′ Airstream Sport Trailer or one of several other prizes, including Kodak Slice Cameras, Kodak ESP 7250 Printers, digital picture frames, Little Debbie Prize Packs and more!

Ten lucky Deal Seeking Mom winners will each receive a Little Debbie prize pack that includes:

  • 2 boxes of Cloud Cakes
  • 2 boxes of Spring Snacks

To enter, tell me one memory involving snack cakes from when you were a kid or as an adult if you didn’t have them as a child. Did your mom pack them in your lunch box? Were they a special treat reserved for road trips? Did you eat your first snack cake in college when you were on your own?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

My best friend and I would walk 3 miles to the grocery store to buy nutty bars which were 25cents then. I dont remeber any other snacks I liked. I was totally addicted to them!

When I was a kid, we didn’t have Little Debbie snacks where I lived. One summer we traveled by car to Big Stone Gap, Virginia to visit my Grandma. It’s a very small town & back then they didn’t even have a McDonald’s. What I remember the most about that visit was buying a bunch of Little Debbie snacks to take back home with us. Star Crunch snacks were my favorite!

When my kids were little, we always had Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies on hand! They were are favorites for lunch boxes and for snacks at home. I didn’t find out until the kids were teenagers that they also served as sustenance for when the kids decided to “run away from home”. They would get angry at something their mean old mom would do or say and pack up all the Oatmeal Cream Pies they could and then they would “run away”. Running away meant that they went to the basement, drowned their sorrows with Little Debbie, then, once they were done being angry at me (or ran out of Oatmeal Cream Pies!) they’d “come home” (back upstairs!) Thank you LD for nourishing my children while they were so far from “home”!!

I’ll always remember being little and going grocery shopping with my mom because we always looked foward to the end of the trip when while going thru the checkout lane we were allowed one Debbie snack cake of our choosing :)

Getting a Nutty Bar was always a treat for me when we went to the store when I was a kid. Always got either that or a Fudge Round in a single serve.

Growing up, my mom always kept Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls in her freezer for me to be eaten cold. They are very good that way. Mom is now gone, but I continue the tradition for my kids, and now the grandkids. Going on 4 generations of Little Debbie goodness!

My extended family lives in Alabama. Every summer, our family would venture from Illinois to Alabama to visit our relatives. At one point in the 1980’s, my Uncle Terry worked for Little Debbie as a truck driver. Usually, my sister and I would be able to spend one night during our trip with my Aunt and Uncle. In the evening after dinner, Uncle Terry would open up the back of his truck and let my sister and I grab a handful of Little Debbie snacks for the night. I always looked forward to that and to this day Little Debbie holds a special place in my heart; especially the Oatmeal Cream Pies.

When I taught school, Little Debbie cakes were easy to take as a special treat when the children had accomplished an usually difficult task-(I taught Jr & Sr High). Quad equations, Periodic table, or Multiplication & Division tables memorized all deserved a special treat in my eyes!

When I was a child, my grandmother (Mema) used to make my lunch for me. My mom had to drop by her house every morning to pick it up before taking me to school. At lunch, I was always excited to open my lunchbox to see which “Debbie cake” she sent for me. My most favorite as a child was the star crunch. I think of my Mema every time I taste one. Great memories.

Every time we had a field trip day where we had to bring a sack lunch, mom would stop at the quick stop/gas station and buy me twinkies and funyuns to put in my bag….I loved those days :).
