Win-It Wednesday: Jif To Go Travel Pack (2 Winners!)

August 3, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Between camps, vacations and warm weather activities, summer is a busy time of the year for many families. We’ve gone from 4 of our 5 kids playing baseball on three different teams to an impromptu Myrtle Beach vacation last week right into every night football practice, so we know a thing or two about being on the go!

Luckily this Jif To Go Travel Pack arrived the day before we left for vacation. Let me tell you, it was a lifesaver! Our factory GPS system quit working a few weeks ago, so the Garmin was a total blessing.

But the real hit was the Jif To Go Peanut Butter. They were just what my kids needed when they got the munchies in between stops, and I love that you can use them so many ways — pretzels, celery, apple slices. All delicious choices!

Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom winners will receive a Jif To Go Travel Pack that includes:

  • Jif To Go Creamy Peanut Butter 3-pack (1.5 oz. cups)
  • Jif To Go Creamy Peanut Butter 8-pack (1.5 oz. cups)
  • Tote Bag
  • Garmin GPS System
  • $50 gift card to AutoZone
  • Jif Travel Mug
  • Travel Scrabble
  • Mini bags of pretzels

To enter, tell me what the last road trip you went on was.

my husband, my 7yr old son and I traveled from the Metro-Detroit area, to over 15 states so far this year alone!! We break it up though and go on mini 4 day trips. Just 2 weeks ago we went to the Mall of America in MN, we did a few things in Wisconson, like horseback riding, zip line, etc. We then stopped in Chicago to do some walking down town, then we stopped in Amish town IN, and back to MI. We had a blast. However I always hear I’m starving from both my husband and son. My son doesn’t eat healthly so this would be extremelly helpfull, he loves PB!! He also plays Football, Soccor, and Baseball, he’s in boy scouts, so he’s always on the go!! We are an on the go family!!

I liked both you on FB, and I’ve been receiving your mulitple daily emails for a while!!

I LOVE this site, it’s so HELPFUL when it comes to saving money!!

    Thanks

Our last trip was to South Dakota. We went to Rapid City and all over the Black Hills.. We climbed Crazy Horse Monument. You can only do that one weekend a year for a Volksmarch. It was great. Mount Rushmore we got to see in the evening as they took down the flag and my husband as a veteran was able to assist. They called all the veterans down. I got to see so much wildlife and beautiful country. If you get a chance this is a lovely place to visit.

Our last roadtrip was from Michigan to visit my youngest son, who lives with his dad in Virginia. We’ve made this trip so many times that I know the route and could probably drive it in my sleep! However, this last trip was different. We had seen on the news that a major snowstorm was headed for the very area we were visiting in Virginia, so we tried to arrange our trip to avoid the storm – or at least arrive ahead of it! Unfortunately, at the last moment, Murphy’s Law went into effect and every plan I made had some sort of hitch in it. My payroll check wasn’t deposited on time, my van started acting very odd and not running properly, and the storm’s arrival appeared to be inching closer to our arrival time in VA. We finally got everything worked out, and left on our trip (much later than planned). We finally arrived at approximately 3 a.m. and collapsed into bed at the hotel. We awoke about 5 hours later to find 14″ of snow outside our windows, and a blizzard in full swing, complete with howling winds, blinding snow, and even some “thunder snow”. By the end of the day, this southern state was in a state of emergency, no one was traveling on the roads, and we couldn’t see our van anymore – it was buried under over 20″ of snow, along with all the other cars in the parking lot. The hotel was fully booked with travelers taking shelter from the storm. Our plans for a fun vacation with my son were somewhat changed, but we made the best of it. The first day, we stayed inside the room at the hotel, played games, watched tv, and just talked. We ordered pizza from the only open restaurant in town (just across the parking lot) and had it delivered for a little pizza party in the room. The next morning, the roads still were not cleared, so we walked next door to another restaurant for lunch, then walked through the snow to the shopping center and just enjoyed walking around the stores that were open, just to get out of the room. Then we swam in the hotel pool, played video games, and just enjoyed being together. By the time we left a few days later, the snow had almost completely melted, and our trip home was completely uneventful! It turned out to be one of the best visits we’ve ever had!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
