Entry #1 for our project: the boys garden patch by the house needs some TLC and we need a new planter for our recently purchased orange tree!

So, we have a TON of stuff always in the works.
The first is our front screen door. The wind caught it one day and caused it to break the hinge thingy, so it doesn’t stay shut. Plus, it also caused the glass to break.
Second, we are doing a garden and trying to eat more healthy (healthier?). Anyway, we’ve done a garden in the past, but our ground is so full of clay and rocks. We are going to try to till out a different space to plant a better garden.
Third, our landscaping really needs some work! We have brick that separates a lot of the flower beds from the rest of the lawn, but the 4yo likes to play with them. Right now, they are strewn throughout the yard.
The fourth project in the works is to fix the garage door. Thats sort of outdoors right? Every time we open the door, the little wheel comes off the track on one side. It still works, but if we go to open it the next time, it gets stuck and we have to put the wheel back on track manually. I don’t think it should be a difficult fix, but it is just finding the time to do it. Then, I will have to clean out the garage again so that I can park inside!! Ugh!

I have a huge oak tree in my backyard. And I want to build a wooden seating area around the girth of the tree. I’m going to build it about 2 feet from the tree all around and then I’m putting potted plants all around the tree on the inside of that 2 feet… if you can picture it, it’s going to be beautiful :)

The spring project is to finish our bathroom. It got ripped apart about a year ago with every intention of us putting it back together. Unfortunately with now only one income their was no money to continue the work on it. We have been doing a little here and there and eventually it will be done!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
