Win-It Wednesday: H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device

June 30, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom 366 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

H17txt with Motospeak™

June is just about over now, but did you know that it was National Safe Driving Month? Motorola hit the road this month to educate consumers about driving safely with their Get Smarter safe driving campaign.

As part of this effort, Motorola has developed the H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device. This nifty little piece of technology looks like a typical Bluetooth headset, with the added capability of reading text messages to the consumer in real time. You can even set up an autoresponse that will let the original sender know that you will respond to their message as soon as you reach your destination!

Motorola sent me an H17txt with Motospeak unit to test drive this feature. Unfortunately, the Motospeak technology is only compatible with Android and RIM devices at this time, so I was unable to take advantage of it with my iPhone. However, you can still use it as a Bluetooth headset, and this has quickly become a lifesaver for me. I’m hoping that the Motospeak application will be compatible soon, because I’d love to have that feature.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win an H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device!

To enter, answer tell me whether you’ve ever been tempted to text and drive. Shh, we won’t tell…

GUILTY! I had been texting while driving, even though it’s illegal in CA now. But, I stopped after my brother (a highway patrol officer) told me how a “soccer” mom was now going to jail for hitting and killing a young man because she was texting!!!! That was enough for me!!!

I’m terrible at texting – so I’m never tempted… I am tempted, though, to talk on the phone. Usually, though, I have a passenger and I make them answer the phone for me. Long drives used to be my favorite time to call far away family and catch up.

No texting & driving for me – I do talk on the phone though, so hands free would be great.

I’ve been tempted to text and drive but I’m a klutz with butterfingers. That’s what keeps me away from it.
