Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door? If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.
Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.
The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.
Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:
- One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
- Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

Subscribed via RSS Feed. Biggest concern is we do not have the sensor turned on and the door is locked from the outside. I have to run fast enough to not get squashed by the door

My biggest safety concern about garage doors is that a door spring might break or shatter & can send sharp shrapnel flying in any direction of the garage to anyone inside the garage.
Alison Lainhart
I am concerned about a lot of things. I worry that if I forget to lock it someone could break in or that if the power is out I won’t be able to get in the house. It is very loud and has woke my little ones when returning late night or early morning.

My biggest concern with garage doors is that they have sensors that stop the door from going down if there is something within the sensors radar. i have little ones so thats important for any parent. (plus they have tried to shut the soor on ME before! lol)

I am always worried that when it goes down it doesn’t shut and goes back up. We live downtown in a big city so I don’t want my house broken into, I also worry about the chain breaking, as I have children and pets. :)

My biggest concern is pulling away from the house while the garage door is closing, and when I get home realize it never closed! It’s happened. The sun shines on the sensor and it triggers the door and it never shuts.

I often leave to take my kids to school on the way to work and panic, thinking I haven’t closed the door. I often go back to check only to find that I did close it. The ability to know by checking the network adapter remote! What a great feature!

When my husband and I are exhausted from working so much or being out too late, we can never remember if we closed the garage door and have to double check. Also when the power goes out, worry that the garage door may be easy to open from outside even though the inside bypass cord has not been pulled.

My biggest safety concern is the stability of my current garage door, along with the garage door closing no matter what is in the way!
Jaime
My biggest concern with my garage door is that the sensors will not work if something gets in door’s way and it will not function properly.

My biggest safety concern with the garage doors is forgetting to close them. I’ve had to drive back home several times to check to see if I actually did close the garage doors. But I am also concerned about the access code being the same and someone being able to access it and open the doors to break in.
