Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

If you’re the person who never knows what’s for dinner until the very last minute, you’ll love the Food Network Magazine Great Easy Meals cookbook, with 250 quick recipes to spice up your dinner from drab to fab.
I love Food Network Magazine, so I was excited to see what their latest book had to offer. As promised, it delivers lots of fast and easy recipes with additional kitchen tips from the stars sprinkled throughout. I especially love the visual recipe index in the front of the book and the Mix & Match sections at the end of each chapter that give you a customizable recipe.
I was also thrilled that they included a number of tasty side dishes. We’re perfectly happy eating basic grilled chicken, pork, and burgers frequently during the warmer months if we can pair them with a variety of sides.

We paired this quinoa with some simple grilled chicken for a fast, easy, filling and tasty meal tonight! It’s a variation on the Israelis Couscous with Raisins recipe. We didn’t have any couscous, so I improvised — and the resulting side was delicious!

The way I decide on dinner depends on what I am in the mood for and what I happen to have thawed out!

I decide what is for dinner by either what needs to be used up or by the amount of people that happens to be in the house. We tend to have a revolving door of company almost every day.

I look in the fridge or sometimes I let my 7yr old choose.

I have a general idea based upon what I have on hand, the time I have available, what’s been on special, etc. Would like to get to more planning but teenage son’s sports gets in the way – we’re eating on the run too much.

I wish I was more creative and organized with deciding what’s for supper. It depends on how busy our evening is that night but I usually dig thru the pantry to see what sounds good. If nothing sounds or looks good that usually means its tacos for supper.

I make a dinner menu at the beginning of the month with main entrees. Then at the beginning of each week I plan out the sides to go with the main course and head out to do my shopping…

Well it depends on if I am on a diet or if I am having company for dinner, which happens a lot over here. :o) Most of the time I just pull aout a meat and then go from there. Today I had sausage and a lot of veggies so I made a veggie soup with it.

We are Facebook followers of DealSeekingMom! We actually start planning our meals around our vegetables first! One child loves green beans, one loves broccoli and the middle child loves peas and, of them love corn. With corn, we may add a main protein dish with bbq sauce. Green beans are usually served with Italian dishes, peas with pasta, etc. The kids help taking turns choosing the veggie for the night and the dinner gets planned around those. Oh, how we would LOVE some fresh, new ideas from the Food Network Magazine recipe collection! Thank you! :-b

We plan our meals 1-2 weeks in advance. There’s at least one “breakfast night”, then chicken, beef, vegetarian, and seafood dishes dispersed on the rest of the week!
