Enter to Win: Bugs In My Hair Prize Pack (3 Winners!)

October 3, 2013 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Is something bugging you?! Bestselling award-winner David Shannon shows the funny side of waging war against–oh no!–head lice. Bugs in My Hair is guaranteed to make you laugh–and itch! From the opening picture of a happy, over-sized louse appearing with his suitcases, you know these bugs are determined to stay, and Mom is about to go nuts!

Author David Shannon peppers his hilarious scenes with fun, “nitpicking” facts about these “lousy” critters and pokes fun at common denial: “It’s probably ash from that volcano in Pogo Pogo.” Once again Shannon has created a fresh, highly entertaining read-aloud classic that begs to be read again and again.

“If anyone can make a case of head lice fun, it’s Shannon. He humorously captures and normalizes the panic, embarrassment, and tedium of this common grade-school affliction. Even the mom’s reactions — first panic, then phantom head-itch, then mountains of laundry — are perfect!”
–Susan Kunhardt, Book Passage, Corte Madera, CA

Today, three (3) lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a Bugs in My Hair Prize Pack, which includes:

  • $50 Visa gift card
  • Copy of Bugs in my Hair
  • PLUS copies of two other David Shannon titles: A Bad Case of Stripes, and No, David

To enter, share if you’ve had an experience with head lice that you can laugh about (now that it’s over)!

One year at the school where I work the lice outbreak was so bad that we had to have EVERY student put their coats, hats, cloves and boots in individual garbage bags…when they came to school, when they came in from recess, etc. Teachers all wore their hair in buns. We did finally get the lice to stop!

Unfortunately, you can be real clean and still get the lice from other kids. Knock on wood…no outbreaks here!

Yes i have experience with head lice. My oldest has had a couple of outbreaks in her class when younger. She got it about 3 times so I became a pro and getting them out. Now I use tea tree oil in the shamppoos to help repel them. I don’t want to go through all that ever again

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
