I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

    The number one thing I love is when a trash bag actually stays up around the rim of my trash can! I have one that opens with a foot pedal and I hate to find the trash bag down inside because it usually means my husband or daughter dumped stuff in anyway and now I’ve got to deal with trying to fix it with garbage on top of the bag! Ughhh!

    I lke bags that either have the drawstrings or long enough “tails” on top that I can tie it up. (I also like the stetchy ones that won’t break!)

    I usually look at what’s on sale and what I have coupons for. Sometimes I’ll go with the store brand ones to save a little if I think the strength is about the same.
