Win-It Wednesday: $50 Target Gift Card from Hefty (2 Winners!)

September 29, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

I haven’t had to do that since I started using the Hefty Trash Bags with Unscented Odor Block Technology! I’ve several good sales on these lately, so it’s nice to know we don’t have to sacrifice price for this great product, especially since there’s a $1 off coupon available right now.

Join Hefty’s Facebook community and you’ll get a $1/1 Hefty Waste Bag printable to use on your next purchase.

Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Target gift card courtesy of Hefty Trash Bags.

To enter, tell me what you look for in a garbage bag. Do you like the flexible kind that stretches as you fill it up or pull it out of the can, or maybe the drawstrings are the most important part for you?

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

I look for durability. I tried store brand bags one time and I will most likely never buy them again. I think the name brand bags are more durable. There is nothing worse then having a bag full of trash rip and spill while taking it out

I’m fine with most any trash bags, as long as they are strong enough to handle regular trash & not tear.

I have to have a drawstring and it needs to be fairly strong. We pack them full so they need to withstand the abuse we shell out.

Capacity, thickness and flexibility are what I look for in a trash bag.

Drawstrings are definitely the most important factor for me.

Draw strings are great & strong so that they can handle the trash in a larger trash can.

The flexible ones are too hard to force trash into. I like the ones that have elastic around the top, or some way to keep them from sliding down into the can once they start to get full.

I like a trash bag that doesn’t tear when you’re taking out to the trash.

Ease of closing (prefer the tie flaps), and one that doesn’t break open! We cram that baby pretty full before it’s chucked out to the trash can!

I need strength in my trash bags. One that won’t fall apart when you pull it out of the trash can.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
