I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

    All I look for in a trash bag is it’s ability to hold my week’s worth of trash without breaking and leaking all over my kitchen trashcan or on the way to my curbside trashcan. I particularly appreciate being able to buy one box of trash bags and have it last me an entire year before I have to think about restocking.

    I look for strong (sturdy) tall kitchen bags – ones that don’t get holes poked through them. I’m also a fan of the type where you can grab the flaps and tie them up
