Yes, we keep a coin jar and count it when we have a special purchase we would like to make. We usually use it for a down payment on a new splurge like a tv, a mini vacation….
Iris
We have a coin jar; we count it whenever it looks like there is a substantial amount. We use it toward my Hubby’s perscriptions, as he has M.S. and the monthly perscriptions are really costly.

We have a small bowl for a coin jar. I do not mind using change so only my husband adds to the jar. And I take out when we need things like lunch money for the kids.

We keep our change in a great big water jug from the water dispenser at my office, and we have never counted the change because I wouldn’t want to have to put it all back after dumping it out!!

We keep our change in a plastic jar. We count it often and deposit it into a bank account for fun trips. We used to keep all the money at home until my daughter’s house was robbed and the robbers took their change jar that had over $200.
