We keep a bucket ‘o change on the dresser and a ‘vacation piggy’ on the bookshelf. I put all my change in the vacation piggy in hopes of going somewhere fun in the next century or so and my husband dumps his change in the bucket. Works out great!

We don’t keep a coin jar because all loose change goes in my 1 year old’s piggy bank. We used to though and we used to coinstar the change once every year or so.

I do keep a coin jar. I count our change maybe once every 6 months. We rarely use cash.

We use an old glass milk bottle to keep our change. We count it every 3 or 4 months. Sometimes we turn it in for cash to have on hand and other times it is put toward something we need.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
