I do not keep a coin jar. My son does though!
Misty
I do keep a coin jar and normally count it once a year or so.

We keep a coin jar…we don’t count it very often, more just use it for small treats. For instance, we might use it to get some soda & popcorn for a movie night in.
deb
we have banks all over the house and usually count it all up before heading off on vacation to use as spending money for the childrne.

Yes, we keep a coin jar. It never gets much in it because we are always raiding it for coins…usually so we can go to the carwash. Neither my husband nor I use cash as our main way of paying for things so it takes us a while to collect more than a few pennies.

I “like” DSM and Coinstar on FB.

My husband and I share a coin jar and we roll change about every two months or so. My two younger children have a piggy bank, which we are saving for them to use when they are older. My three older kids have piggy banks, but spend their money too fast to save!

My husband keeps a coin bank of sorts, but I do not – I almost exclusively use my debit card for my transactions. Any extra change is kept in the car, in case of the odd need to feed a meter.
Now my mother, on the other hand, keeps change everywhere and I’ve been known to drag her by the hand, lugging huge gallon jars filled with coins, to the nearest coinstar machine to make her get rid of her coin hoard!

I have 2 coin jars, we don’t count but separate pennies from rest of coins… So far I think we only cashed one of them once. We used the coins for car wash, pay tollway fee and for garage sale purchases…
Lisa
Yes, I have a coin bank. We take it in once a year and deposite it into our kids savings account :)

My husband dumps his pockets on the counter every evening and always leaves the change the next morning, so I scoop this up and use it as much as I can during the day. Anything I have left over, I leave in the ‘ashtray’ of my van.
Jamie
We keep am old water bottle full of coins and when it gets full we will go dump it in the “green machine”!!

We keep a jar of coins but it never reaches the brim. When we need it, I take the jar to our nearby coinstar (kroger or walmart) and use the money to get groceries.
