I love giving school supplies gift baskets. Pretty cheap, and I hate that the teachers have to buy all that stuff themselves.

I think one of the best budget friendly tips – would be just your TIME. Let them have a quiet lunch in the room – or outside – or in their car or in a restaurant. A friend of mine went in to the school and sat with the class first thing in the morning – and let the teacher sleep in one morning –it was her birthday gift! There is so many things that we can do!!!!
Thanks,

I subscribe to your wonderful website already and it has fast become one of my favorites to check each day. :) As for favorite budget-friendly teacher gifts…some years I have baked cookies and included the recipe…other times I will get some of that apple butter from Cracker Barrel and get them to gift wrap it since they do such a nice job and it is fairly inexpensive. :) Last year, I was able to find a few things drastically marked down from their Christmas inventory (dangerous, I know!) so I picked up some cute salt n pepper shakers (Santa & piece of peppermint candy) for literally dollars…and Kmart had some festive Christmas socks reduced too, so that along w/some Bath & Body Works stash I have as well, (from .99 sales. ;) I am sure I’ll wrap up something they’ll like. I just give to others maybe what I’d like to receive. :)

I love to give nice gift baskets of school supplies, beauty products, or a nice gift card. Thanks so much!

Homemade fudge is our gift of choice!

I have been head room mom for the past few years. I always collect 5-10 from each parent (more or less if they want). Then, we pool all the money together to buy a nice gift card for a spa, dinner out or the teacher’s favorite store. For my one sons teacher this year, we actually collected 200!!!! and got her a nice gift card to the Gap (her favorite store).
I think teachers get bored with the apple themed items and gifts such as candles, lotions, etc are so personal as far as scent preference is concerned, that I think GCs are the way to go!!! I have several friends that are teachers and the agree =)

Most teachers would love extra classroom supplies for a holiday gift. Otherwise, they’d just be spending their own money on some. You could sweeten these gifts by putting them into a cute gift basket and adding a giftcard for them to buy anything else you forgot.

I have the highest respect for my kids’ teachers, and I always try to gift them with a $5-10 GC to Starbucks or even someplace like Subway, because the GC is so much more useful and hey can get what they like.

I love giving away reusable grocery bags. I try to snag them through coops or on sale for a few dollars each and even if they don’t use them as a shopping bag they still come in handy toting things to and from school.

I like to make layered mixes in glass jars. Especially cool old fashioned jars. I recently made some with everything for soup. They look cool and tasted yummy too!

We like to give a mug and a package of coffee or tea, whichever the teacher likes to drink
