Do It Yourself Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

December 22, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

gingerbread_man_cardHome Depot is my favorite store to shop at for DIY projects, and we’ve often purchased Home Depot gift cards for our family members because it’s a fun and easy gift idea. After all, they have something for everyone!

Home Depot gift cards are a great idea for the do-it-herself-ers and handymen on your gift lists, and if you’re scrambling for some last minute ideas, this is a great solution! This year The Home Depot has 17 holiday gift card styles to choose from, including a scratch-n-sniff gingerbread man that can be decorated with stickers and a card that looks and feels like it is covered with the handyman’s wrapping paper – duct tape.

Maybe a gift card is too impersonal for you and you’re still struggling to come up with new holiday gift ideas? This year, leave the sweaters and fruit baskets behind and get the do-it-yourselfer in your life a selection of great tools, which can be affordable and practical gifts that last for years and never go out of style. The Home Depot offers hundreds of tools and home improvement products ensuring that you’ll find appropriate gifts for the new homeowner, weekend warrior or experienced pro. Featured in the photos below are the new Ryobi® Lithium-Ion 4 Piece 12V Kit (Price: $149, SKU 285-630) and the new Makita 10.8V Li-Ion 2 Piece Cordless Combo Kit (Price: $179, SKU 637-212).

I have so many projects that I could use $100 for. But the most prominent one is to make some shelves and organizing units for my stamping/crafting room.

    Thanks for the chance. iclipalso(at)yahoo(dot)com

Not to be too specific, but a Connecticut Electric 100A, 2P UBI Type Z Thick Zinsco Breaker. That way my lights will stop flickering in my 82 yr. old house!

I would use $100 to buy a faucet and other things for the kitchen that we’re remodeling. We have a big old house and we’re fixing it up ourselves as time and money permits.

I think I would probably set the gift card aside for spring to put towards the purchase of new plants and shrubs. We put in a retaining wall around our house last year to fill with plants and stones, but never got around to the plant part last year. Looks like it’s on this year’s to-do list.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
