We smoke our turkey for Thanksgiving every year. It all began with my father-in-law making smoked turkey when we lived near him. Now we’re thousands of miles away but we’ve learned how to make our own. Hopefully someday our kids will follow that tradition too.

I subscribed via email. I appreciate the chance to be entered in the giveway. The best thing about Thanksgiving is the family all getting together and enjoying an incredible homecooked meal mostly prepared by my mom. Since me and my brothers are all grown with families of our own, it is rare for us to all be in the same place at once. Life is just too busy these days. Thanksgiving is the first holiday we slow down to enjoy each other before the craziness of the Christmas season sets in. I am “thankful” for the Thanksgiving season. I personally love the traditional Thanksgiving meal with old fashioned pumpkin pie and cool whip- yum!
