Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

I try to find EVERYTHING on Craigslist. For example, we are in the market for a new jogger stroller. We went to the stores to try out the different models, and then found the one we wanted used for a fraction of the price!

This is going to sound basic, but lately, I have just had the courage to ask my friends from mothers groups, with childre to car pool. To the beach (50 mins) is understandable, but….

I even did it today with a neighbour for a 15 minute drive. We went to a play place for kids and if you arrive together you get a second chid discount, so it works for us all.

Just started the CVS game and have earned $15.99 in ECB’s for an initial $13.50 OOP.My CVS is less then a mile from my house.

One money saving tip would be to make your own cleaners, unless you are getting them free. You can find recipes online. Also,Dawn dish detergent works wonders on grease spots and most stains on clothes. It is a grease cutter afterall.

We also bought a microwave popcorn maker, and I buy loose popcorn, storebrand, for $1.29 or so,and a small bag will last about a month. We eat popcorn almost every night for a snack. You can also make it stovetop in a pot.So much cheaper then the individual bags, unless they are free. :)

To save money I have stopped lookins at the sale ads for Circuit City and Best Buy. I used to read them every Sunday and see some DVDs I wanted. Now I don’t even look to avoid temptation!

I just subscribed to All You magazine and resubscribed to the Sunday newspaper to take advantage of the coupon inserts. I subscribe to a daily newspaper (for business reasons) and realized it does not carry as many coupon circulars as the Sunday paper.

I use freecycle.org and another local site to reuse and recycle items. I received a used furnace for my home, a child gate and an up-and-running fish tank with 10 fish! When we decided we wanted to get a fish tank, I figured there might be someone out there with a dusty fish tank in their basement. I was surprised to find someone wanting to get rid of a tank with fish.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
