Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

We recently became a one-income family, so I’ve been using a lot of money saving ideas to stay under budget. I use coupon layering, hang some of my laundry to dry (don’t need a clothesline – use the shower curtain rod), and plan menus. One thing that really gets us on a spending spree is if we go to the mall. So, when we stay away from the mall we always save money! Not to mention the gas we spend to get there. I’ve found I can do most of my shopping in the town I live in. Thanks!

I live in Florida, and there are tons of fruit stands on the sides of the roads everywhere. I’ve started purchasing my produce through them if I can. It’s usually a little cheaper, and it’s a way to give back to the community, or something like that.

    That’s my final entry!

I havebeen calling the companies whose items I use the most of! I call their 800 # and ask them if they have any current coupons they could send me and every one of them has sent me coupons for $’s off and normally turns out to be a free product. The nice thing, most of them say to call back quarterly and they will send more!! I have gotten coupons for $3 off Smuckers product, $3 off Campbells, Prego, Pepperidge Farms, Pace products, $2 off Northland juice, and $3.00 off a DOVE product and a whole booklet of coupons that came with it for other Unilever products. I also have a Facebook acct. and have joined Check It Out and have gotten unbelievable coupons on there too!

My best money saving tip isn’t too original, but it sure does save. We try to think through each errand that we have at the beginning of the week, and use one or two days to accomplish them all in a way that benefits time, money, and sanity. Instead of driving from one end of town to another, I try to do a few places that I can hit in one direction one day and then another day do another direction. I also tried to use local farmers and markets this year which helps everyone locally.

The best money saving idea I’ve had lately is to shop once every two weeks. It saves on gas, makes me creative in the kitchen and I buy only what I know we’ll use.

I wait for a sale on items like boneless, skinless chicken breats. When they are $1.99/pound instead of $4.59/pound I buy ten or twenty pounds. Then I divide them into serving size for our family (3 breasts now) and freeze in quart size freezer bags (which I pick up on sale with double coupons or buy the house brand.) I spend so much less money on my meat than folks who pay whatever the asking price is each day.

    Thanks for having the giveaway!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
