Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

Most people don’t think you can save any money by doing this, but I swear it makes a HUGE difference. Every Friday I make a menu and shopping list for the coming week. That means that I buy exactly what I need and I know exactly what to make at each meal – no extra trips to the grocery store (where inevitably you end up buying more stuff), no wasted vegetables because I know how much I need, and no ordering out because it’s late and I don’t know what to cook and don’t feel like going to the store.

Lately I’ve been going more chemical free with cleaning, using mostly vinegar and baking soda. Good for the environment, and cheap!

To save money, we grocery shop at a place called Winco. The cheapest store around. No frills, just good prices.

I have been a subscriber for some time – I love your blog. My best money savings tip lately is to follow the CVS ads and to USE coupons. I am still learning, slowly, but surely.

My money-saving tip: (and I hope my daughter reads this!) sort your clothes before washing. Washing jeans and underwear and tees all together not only makes them grey; but wears out the material. Jeans are abrasive on other clothes. Then you have to buy new ones. Take the time to do it right. Whites with whites. Extra nice fabrics in gentle cycle; etc. I know this is not new; but it seems that younger ladies are not doing it these days.

My money saving tip would be finding online sites like this who try and provide coupons and always checking out weekly store specials.

My recent tip is I go to the 99 cent store and buy baby poweder and use it for ants in my house. Yes baby powder around the base boards stops ants and I put it on top of my hmmingbird feeder to prevent ants. Works great! I wish I had known this win my kids were little its so much better than pesticides, at least in my opinion. Best of all its a cheap cure. Thank you for a great contest and I like you site.

I’ve been wanting one of these so bad!

I’ve been stashing away all small bills I get. 1s and 5s. You would be surprised how much it all adds up!

Instead of buying baby food in jars at the store I make my own. It is a lot cheaper and plus I know everything that is going into the baby food. Thanks for the giveaway.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
