Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

My name is Melissa and I live in Connecticut. As it is late, I sit and ponder who to call to tell of my wonderful accomplishments, but as it is Friday, all of my non-mother friends are out partying and my mother friends are busy or sleeping so I have no one to tell. This is the perfect opportunity- I tell the blogging community and I can enter a contest!!!

I have learned to use coupons wisely, write companies to get coupons, through complimenting, asking for coupons and complaining if an occaision warrants it. Weekly I get roughly $50-$100.00 in different coupons. I have figured out where to shop whether it be Wal-mart, Target, Shop Rite, Stop and Shop or Babies/Toys R Us.

I know certain shop rites will take more than one coupon per item (target and shoprite- score with diapers… I have paid negative money meaning the money was taken off the rest of my order at times for using my diaper coupons) and Targets will also do the same.

I have figured out too, that Toys R Us will take more than one coupon check. Tonight, I had $89.00 in Enfamil checks, so I purchased 3 24 Oz. canisters of Enfamil Next Step Lipil ($21.99 ) and 1 25.7 Oz Enfamil Lipil with Iron ($24.00). The 4 canisters totalled $89.97 and with the $89.00 in checks I paid $0.97 on the 4 canisters. I then had 2 playtex bottles to return $3.49 each, so I got $6.98 back and used that to buy an AVENT BPA free bottle ($9.99) and a 2 pack of size 3 AVENT Nipples ($4.99). I saved 15% on each item and with my store credit for the bottles I paid $1.50.

I then had a gift card and purchased my son’s favorite board book in paperback form to keep in the diaper bag, snap and lock beads and a backyardigans music book on clearance for $7.99. Please see the attached picture to see what I paid out of pocket for $1.50- the toy/books and formula went on my gift card- $100.00 which I have made last 9 months!

I just wanted to tell you that I follow your website daily Thank you for all of your tips!!!

My biggest money saving tip is to see if you have a mom-and-pop liquidation/close-out store nearby. We found a local one several months ago where we can buy boxes of cold cereal and granola bars for $1 each, and sometimes only $0.50 each. Those are staples in our home, so it is a big money-saver! And there are always other good finds, too–last week I picked up kids’ sunscreen by banana boat for $1 and the face stick by Waterbabies for $0.50, among other treasures.

    1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently.

Don’t buy something just because you have a coupon for it, especially if it’s something you don’t need.

I get caught up thinking I have to use EVERY coupon – until somebody woke me up and reminded that you don’t have to use every single coupon and that another deal will come along later on.

My favorite money saving tip is to join the loyalty programs offered by many retailers. It is good for discounts, special events, VIP Nights, or free samples. I don’t take advantage of the perks unless it is for something I was going to buy anyway.

With Walgreens regularly sending out email coupons for 5/20 and 10/40, I’m trying to be patient and wait for those times so I can make even more money on the FAR items besides the 10% bonus when it’s loaded to the gift card.

Recently, I’ve started using grocery coupons printed from mypoints.com , which not only saves money at the grocery, it earns me reward points, which I can redeem for gift cards to a wide choice of stores. Double savings!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
