Whirlpool Duet: Laundry Stain Assist Takes the Work out of Stain Removal

December 12, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 6 Comments

Overall, I actually don’t mind doing laundry — especially now that I have the Whirlpool Duet system (thanks to my stint as a Whirlpool Test Drive Mom!). It’s more the folding and putting away that I despise… But there’s still that pesky issue of stained clothing, and with five active kids, you can bet that I see plenty of stains each week.

Whirlpool has an answer for taking the work out of stain removal though! The Whirlpool Duet washer features an electronic stain assist system which take all of the guesswork out of what settings to use for removing those tough stains that kids are known to produce.

Whether you need to remove ball-point ink, pasta sauce, grass stains, or any other myriad of stains, a few simple clicks will tell you exactly what you need to know for removing the stain, keeping your clothes looking newer for longer!

A few other features of the Whirlpool Duet system that helps to protect your clothing:

  • The Whirlpool Duet dryer uses smart temperature control to help reduce shrinking and color bleeding.
  • The Whirlpool Duet washer features 6th Sense technology, which adjusts the amount of water and temperature based on one of 14 different fabric cycles, keeping your blacks black and your colors bright!
  • I’ve mentioned the Precision Dispense Ultra System before because it’s such a great money-saving feature, but it also protects your clothing by releasing bleach and fabric softener at the right time during the cycle for optimal fabric care.

Keeping clothes stain free mean that the clothes we purchase look nicer for longer, which in turn means we can hand them down to siblings and others to save more overall!

Watch for more posts chronicling my stint as a Whirlpool Test Drive Mom, but in the meantime I’d love to hear your thoughts on laundry… Love it? Hate it? How do you keep it from becoming an overwhelming chore? Would any of these features help you streamline your laundry system?

I wrote this review while participating in a test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a complimentary Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer to facilitate my review.

I actually have a different whirlpool set…and because it is a water saver and uses less water I have more stains on my clothes after I am done than before…..leaves residue spots everywhere and I always use HE soap…and always wash on heavy load so we can have an extra rinse….

I always love doing laundry at my parents’ house because they have front-loaders and laundry goes much, much faster!! I try to do a load every day or two…otherwise I end up doing laundry all.day.long. And I don’t have time for that!

I would have loved those. I recently bought a front loader & I hate it. I have 2 little boys that stain their clothes like crazy. My front loader does not get stains out. I have to treat & do the prewash & when I can I do bleach & I still have to wash the stained clothing like 4 times before it comes out.

I wish I could have these! My friend and I have a laundry service that we run from our homes and I would LOVE a front loader. Great review. A little laundry tip that helps keep your front loader clean is 3/4 cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle. It acts as a natural fabric softner, saves money, is eco-friendly and keeps your washing machine clean!

I have the Whirlpool Duet washer/dryer, and for whatever reason, my clothes come out with oily stains on them. Click this link for more experiences like mine. https://www.fixya.com/support/t286490-oil_like_stains_dark_cotton_clothes The thing I hate the most about washers like this for multiple children who like to get messy is the lack of an agitator, which helps to “scrub” the clothes clean during the wash cycle. I never had oily spots with my old washer/dryer (topload/with agitator). Miss them! :(
