Walgreens: Gillette Body Wash Money Maker

June 20, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 14 Comments

If you missed out on the hot Gillette Body Wash deal at CVS last week (which sadly I did), you’ll be happy to know there’s a money maker possibility at Walgreens this week! Look for the travel size Gillette Body Wash priced at $0.99 to do this deal:

Buy 1 Gillette Body Wash (10-16 oz.) at $4.49
Buy 1 Gillette Travel Size Body Wash (1.7 oz.) at $0.99

Use $4/2 Gillette Body Washes, exp. 6-30-10 (P&G 5/2/10)
Total = $1.48 plus tax, Get $4.50 RRs
$3.20 money maker after coupon and RRs!

Check out these other Walgreens deals before you shop for more savings.

Thanks, Wild For Wags!

Is there a link somewhere where I can print out the $4/2 coupon?

That coupon was in the 5/2 P&G insert. I’ve never seen a printable P&G coupon.

There was also a B1G1 Gillette Body wash and B1G1 Old Spice bw recently. I think maybe 6/6? I used one this a.m. and got 2 full size bw and the RR back to roll into my next deal. My Walgreens is really difficult to deal with and they want to argue over every coupon you use for a RR, I’m thinking I have to make a call to corporate it has gotten that bad. Such a shame, esp.when CVS is so good about their ECB’s and deals.

Karen, it’s not just your Walgreens. This morning I placed products on the counter to checkout and when I handed over my stack of coupons I was told that I had too many coupons. Umm, no I don’t. The cashier didn’t even bother to look at the coupons or count them. The stack just seemed too large to her. Then she says “I doubt they’ll all work, but I guess I can try.” Oh look, they all worked!!! Are they trained to have this type of attitude????

The cashier I deal with every sunday morning tells me I am not paying enough money and she doesn’t think walgreens should allow me to use coupons on sale items because I am already getting the product at a discount.

Geez! Well who asked her?! Sounds like Walgreens needs to train their employees better on their customer service! I’ve worked at several different stores as a cashier and I wouldn’t dream of telling someone that they are paying too little money! I would be happy that they were saving money! Their job is ring up your order as pleasantly as possible without trying to make you feel guilty or give thier two cents about how they THINK Walgreen should run thier store.

I had no problems lately. One of the employees actually asked me WHERE I am getting such wonderful coupons. So I told her to visit http://www.deaseekingmom.com :-)

I LOVE my Walgreens here in Downriver Detroit. They are totally coupon friendly and will go out of their way to make your shopping experience easier and better. Seriously– I love shopping there. They make me feel smart for saving money and truly seem to appreciate my business– even when it means sometimes doing 10 transactions in a row! :)

It completely depends on the cashier I get. Some are helpful, some are just terribly rude. But, difficult cashiers do seem to be a recurrent theme at Walgreens.

I think part of the problem with any store like this is probably a combination of high turnover and the manager’s attitude about coupons…

Lately, I have had several problems with Walgreens in my area. I visited a Walgreen last week across town to pick up a few sale items and the lady told me I had to purchase them all in one transaction. When did that become a policy?? I called corporate and they said that it was ok to purchase items seperately. I wasn’t even buying the same items. I was purchasing 3 nuetragena items in one transaction. Body wash in another plus a few other items. It wasn’t like I was trying to clear out there shelves or anything. It has become a hassle to shop there. I prefer CVS much better!!

I hate when cashiers act like the coupons come out of their own check! I do have to say that my walgreens is amazing. They will even take down my number and call me when an item that I am trying to coupon comes in – incredible! (an Arizona store) I was also very happy to hear that about the lady from Detroit – my uncle is the district manager for that store! He says that Walgreens loves the couponers!

Same rude attitude and lack of products when I go at my Marshfield WI Walgreens. On Friday I went to buy Nivea Body wash and I saw there were nearly 25 on them displayed in the back near the Medication aile, but I was in a hurry and I thought I would stop by on next day to grab one, was I had a coupon of $3 on Nivea body was as it would be a money maker for me. Then I went on saturday to buy the same and they said we were out of them. I don’t believe them saying that and I didn’t bought the Nivea. But this Sunday when I went again to Walgreens and I was suprised to have again nearly 25 of Nivea body wash. I don’t have any explanation to this, but I think whenever there is a good deal going on in Walgreens, the staff hides it in the store room or they are getting it for themselves, I don’t know. But I really really avoid going to Walgreens for so many bad experiences. I would love to have CVS in my area, so that walgreens may be closed. :)

My Walgreen’s employees actually cut coupons out and have them at the cosmetics counter and will let me know if they have a coupon for something that I’m buying… love them!
