Walgreens: Dove Deodorant Moneymaker

March 4, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 20 Comments

doveYou know that fabulous deal on Dove bar soaps I told you about last night? As you can imagine, stores are selling out of them quickly.

But don’t despair, because It’s Hip 2 Save discovered that this deal is working on the trial size Dove deodorants, AND there’s a coupon that works with them.

Dove Deodorant Trial Size, $0.99
Buy 8 get $10 RRs

Use (4) $1.50/2 Dove Deodorant, exp. 4-12-09 (V 1/18/09)
Better than FREE after coupon and RRs!

Update: Apparently this deal also works on the trial size Dove soap bars priced at $1.19. (Thanks, DebbieLynne!)

This deal should work for the entire month of March, so this is a great chance to stock up!

I wonder if you can do some dove soaps with some dove deodorants in one transaction to get the deal? (in case there aren’t enough soaps in stock?)

I’m a newbie here and wanted to know what an RR is? How do you get them? Thanks in advance.

Hi! Is this dove thing a monthly deal?

    Thanks!

Danielle, an RR is a Register Reward, and it will print out when you do certain deals. Basically it’s like cash that you can spend on a future purchase.

Amanda, it is a monthly deal, so don’t feel like you have to run out today after it.

I went to Walgreens tonight to buy the deoderant. All was going well until I didn’t get any register rewards! Now, what to do about that? Hmm….

I couldn’t find this register reward in any circular, and no reward printed at the register for me last night (plenty in stock, though). Took them about 15 minutes to process the return when I said I didn’t want the bars.

Everything worked just fine for me. I got the 10 RR’s. I purchased 8 single dove soaps.

Can you use the RR to buy more dove soaps and will you get more RR?

Gesie, no, you can’t roll Register Rewards over on the same deal. They won’t print again.

This worked at a Walgreens in Downtown Chicago! The only problem was the prices were different than those mentioned. The travel deodorant was $1.49. I was able to purchase 6 bars of soap at $0.99 each and two deodorants at $1.49 and used the $1.50/2 coupon. I also bought 2 dawn dishsoaps at $0.99 and used $0.50 off coupons. All together my OOP was less than $10.00 and I received a $10 RR and also a $1.50 off Dove Body Spray coupon. Great Deal! I plan on rolling the RRs into the Huggies deal that is coming up on Sunday. I would also like to hit a different walgreens and do the Dove deal one more time. THis is the only soap we use at our house – can’t beat getting it for free!

I have a friend who works at Walgreens and a note has come down from corporate to limit people to 3 Dove Soaps at .99 each. So I would be careful try to use the Dove Travel Size Deodorants to get up to the 8 items. I would pick up 3 soaps @ .99 and then 6 travel size deodorants using the 2/$1.50 coupons to get up to get the $1.00 RR.

Went to 2 different stores in my area last night, and both were sold out of Dove single bars andtrial size deodorant. Must be someone else around here reading your site;) Are employees allowed to take advantage of these deals?

The trial-size deodorants no longer work (as of 3/7). I tried the deal, and no RR printed. I confirmed this on another website.
