Well I called the 800 number that Natasha gave and the rep that I talked to affirmed that using a coupon makes the Register Reward fail to print! When I asked if this was a new policy, she said that it had always been that way. I didn’t really have anything else to say, as this was my first time trying to use RRs…and it is looking like it will be my last! This is why I love Rite Aid so much more – I have never had any problems stacking store and manufacturer’s coupons, and the Single Check Rebate program is a piece of cake!!

I am supposed to be contacted by the manager of the store I went to, but I don’t know what else they will tell me, if the corporate office backed up what I was told yesterday.

I just called corporate too and they told me the same thing they told you Beth. From my experience Walgreens does have coupon policy issues and this just goes to show they do. Anyhow I asked the representative to have someone “higher up” call me about this.

How can they tell me that you can’t do this when I went to Walgreens today and used the $3.00 Bic coupon and received a Register Reward for it? I have never had a problem with using a manufacturer coupon and my register reward printing; unless their machine was broken, or I did something wrong. So why are people like Beth not receiving theirs? Why are the RR machines doing one thing but corporate is saying another? Hopefully someone “higher up” can give me some answers.

    Beth Anne,
I don’t suppose there’s a lot you can do if you contacted corporate and they gave you the answer that you did, but I almost always use coupons when purchasing items that generate Register Rewards and receive those Rewards with no problem.

After much frustration for a long time now, I have decided to significantly cut back on my Walgreens shopping and take my business elsewhere ( shout out to CVS LOL) where the rewards system is more customer friendly.

Other item to note: I did purchase 3 of the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polishes today for 1.38 each and was able to use a $5 Sally Hansen RR that I earned last week as well as 2 of the $1 off Sally Hansen product coupons AND the $5 RR printed since the deal is rolling!!! I did have other product in the transaction to absorb the overage.

Wow People!!! And I thought my Wags around here were BAD!!! I’m sorry places have to be like this!!! It really stinks because Wags has some really great deals!!! I left Wags oneday almost crying because of the way they treated me over using coupons. My Boyfriend was PI**ED OFF to say the least!!! Everytime I go in there now he’s right next to me and boy they are as nice as they can be!!! LOL

Question about the Sally Hansen deal:

Can anyone verify if the nail polish is the only thing that will generate the RRs?

    Another site was reporting differently.

    Thank you!

I was contacte by the manager of the store I went to and told that they were wrong about the coupon policy, they would accept manufacurer’s coupons to get RRs, and they would give me the razors for free.

I’m guessing this means that the manager was contacted by coorporate after I called, and that the rep that told me you couldn’t use coupons to get RRs was wrong also. All around good news I think!

    Beth,

That is great news. I wonder if we talked to the same lady who was newly trained?

I haven’t been contacted yet. I plan to call them again tomorrow. I talked to my store manager, whom I absolutely love, he said that the service rep at corporate must not have understood what I was talking about. They were wrong to tell me I couldn’t use a manufacturer coupon and receive a RR.

I sure wish Walgreens would do a better job of training their employees!

I called corporate the other day and she told me you COULD NOT use a coupon and get a RR…

But this lady was at her house, not a Walgreens Corporate Office like I was thinking…Maybe these people just aren’t informed…And answer off the top off their heads to sound like they are “in the know”. JMHO

LOL, you could tell she was at her house? That’s a HUGE no-no. I used to work for West at home taking customer service calls, and nothing could get you fired faster than a customer being able to tell you weren’t actually in an office — and you can imagine how hard that was a kids.

I just wanted to post that the store manager called me from Walgreens and stated that they do accept IP coupons if they scan correctly, she stated they were told incorrectly and she would issue me a $25 gift certificate because of my inconvenience. I picked up the gift certificate on Saturday and went back last night when the same cashier told me “we do not take copies of coupons or IP coupons”, I said please call your manager. Needless to say, they accepted my coupons with no problem. They need to have a training session on coupons!!

Tara…She told me sorry 10 times because her kids were so loud I could bearly hear her…But for real, I think they just need to have 1 BIG Walgreens coupons and RR meeting…To inform all their employees of the rules…That way you don’t have 20 employees at 1 store making 20 different rules.
