    Hi Caroly!

Okay, it is true that your total number of RRs and manufacturer coupons have to be more than or at least equal to the number of items you’re purchasing. This is why you’ll hear people talk about the need to filler items in a purchase. Look for inexpensive things like a pencil, eraser, pack of gum, etc.

At CVS you can’t use your ECBs to pay for tax, and I’m assuming that’s the same at Walgreens. So in that instance you’d also need an inexpensive filler item to have your subtotal be equal to or greater than you RRs. It sounds like she was willing to reduce the amount of the RR to match the total, and CVS will do the same, but you lose the amount that is reduced.

Number five is definitely wrong because I’ve used RRs to pay for transactions that generated new RRs all the time. So unless this is a relatively new occurrence, she’s misinformed. I would think if they made a change this major we’d be hearing about it all over the place.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
