How do you use both coupons together? Will Walgreens allow this? I’m new to Walgreens so just learning here!

Walgreens will allow you to use both a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon on the same item in a transaction. However, you will probably also have to buy another small filler item because having more coupons than items throws the register off, so look for a single pencil or something else small, or just work it into another transaction.

    deal seeking mom,

the walgreens coupons usually don’t count towards the amount of items you have, so you can have 5 items for example and use 6 coupons, as long as the 6th one is a store coupon.
hot coupon world has a great tutorial about using the store coupons and manufacturer coupons together at Walgreens.

Tried this today, as well as some of my other couponing friends who live in different areas, and the Wags coupon did not scan. It beeped and would not go through. The cashier checked the price and told me it was because I used a $2 coupon and the wags coupon is for more than the item. Well that has never been the case with wags. If you give the manufacturer coupon first and the wags coupon second, overage would not be an issue. It seems there is an issue with the wags coupon.

Hmm, wonder what the problem is. I know that the Wags coupon is not taking the $1 off multiple items, so if you have more than one YTC item in the same transaction, you have to use multiple Wags coupons. That’s unusual too.

JJJ, sometimes the browser you’re printing from makes a difference, so you could try a different browser.

I went to Walgreen’s tonight with both coupons in hand and the manager would not take them both. She told me that I would have to choose one or the other, but because the item is on sale for $2.97 (less than the total of the coupons), she would not do the transaction. Does anyone know Walgreen’s policy on overage. I explained to the manager that I didn’t want money back, I just wanted to get the item with no money o.o.p. I gave her the Walgreen’s coupon first, but it didn’t seem to matter since the manager was not going to do the transaction.

The coupon dint work for me either. The wags coupon beeped & the cashier noticed that it product price was less than the coupon value. She would not adjust it either. She called the manager & he told me that i can either use the wags coupon or the manufacturer coupon. My friend gave the wags coupon first & it still beeped.

It sounds like there’s a problem with the coupon itself then if it’s beeping even when it’s handed over first. I would imagine that if you do this as part of a larger transaction, you will be less likely to have problems with it.

As much as I’d love to get some free YTC lip balm, the Wags coupon reads “May not be combined with any other offer”. Using the $2 YTC printable plus the 25% off still makes it a good deal though.

Christy, I don’t think that wording is meant to restrict manufacturer coupons though. Walgreens’ policy has always been to accept both a store and a manufacturer coupon, so unless they’ve changed that recently, it should be okay. I actually emailed them earlier this morning to get a copy of their official coupon policy, so we’ll see if they reply!

At my walgreens in the clearance section i found a holiday 3 pack for only 2.50. Much better than buying individually if you can find them at your wags.. worth the look!!

I ran into the same problem. The coupon didn’t scan so they just assumed it was because it only rang up at $2.97. I was only able to use the $2.00 off also. Please post a link if you get their coupon policy because I’d love to have it in hand when I go in there. There’s no reason they can’t accept a manufacturer coupon and walgreens coupon if the total is less than the coupon amount. Does that mean if something goes on sale for $.99 and I have a $1.00 off coupon, I can’t use it? That’s just dumb. I’d love something in writing. Thank you!

I guess the walgreens coupon is working now but there are no more prints available for the $2/1 coupon! Bummer…I didn’t get to print mine.
