Huh – did you say Crisco Olive Oil?
Crisco certainly isn’t the first brand that comes to my mind when I think “olive oil,” so I’m assuming it’s the same for you all. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it’s actually quite good. I’ve been successfully substituting it for my more expensive olive oils over the past few weeks.
Here’s just one example of the tasty recipes that you can create with it.
Mediterranean Salad

Salad:
1 pint grape tomatoes (use a mixture of red and yellow for added interest), halved
1 6-ounce container Bocconcini (small fresh mozzarella balls), drained
1 paper thin slice proscuitto ham, finely chopped
1/3 cup pitted kalamata olives, drained
1 tablespoon capers, drained
Dressing:
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of sugar
3/4 cup Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons chopped chives
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
Place the grape tomatoes, bocconcini, proscuitto, olives and capers in a large bowl; set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the white wine vinegar, mustard, black pepper and sugar. Slowly add the Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a steady stream, whisking while pouring; whisk until dressing is well blended. Whisk in the chives and oregano. Pour dressing over salad; gently toss to combine. Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight to allow flavors to develop, stirring occasionally. Season with additional black pepper if desired. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the tomato mixture to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh oregano sprigs, if desired. Serve.
Yummy!

Here is a quick recipe fix for how I use olive oil. Coat a 12 inch skillet with 2 tbs of olive oil. Then cut into strips, 3 boneless skinless chicken breast set aside. Next you will need to dice 1/4 cup of red onion, 1 diced yellow bell pepper, and one diced red bell pepper, place into a large bowl. Now add the the veggie bowl add 1/2 cup of lime juice, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and one (pick your fav) taco seasoning mix. Place your skillet on low heat and add all of the ingredients together in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, remember to stir. Now adjust heat to medium heat, cook for 10 minutes and stir again every few minutes. A tip, cook until the veggies are just brown and the chicken is cooked through, you don’t want to over cook the veggies and under cook the chicken. Then I place all the ingredients on a bed of premade bagged salad, decorate with cherry tomatoes and top with a little shredded cheese. My family and I love this it is one of our favs.

i cannot live without olive oil, and this is one item i will not skimp on! tonight, for instance, i used it to oil a pan to cook some maple glazed salmon, roast some brussel sprouts, and cook some rice (instead of butter). our favorite way to love olive oil, however, is to dip some good french bread in olive oil and balsalmic vinegar!

Olive Oil is great for dressings, breads, pizza crusts, awesome for dipping with some italian seasonings or parm cheese and you can make a meal with some crusty bread :)

I brush vegetables with olive oil before roasting them in the oven. It’s delicious. Another way I frequently use it as a conditioner. Put it on your scalp, let sit for about 30 minutes and then shampoo and condition as usual. You end up with shiny, soft hair! Thanks.

I use Olive Oil for so many things. But one of our favorites is a copy cat recipe for Carraba’s Dipping Oil for Bread. I never knew Crisco made an Olive Oil, Crisco is the only oil I use for vegetable oil, I have to look and see if I can find this.

I use olive oil in almost all my cooking. I also use it once or twice a week as a moisturizer! I read about an elderly Italian lady with beautiful skin who said she did it!
