Taste of Home Magazine $2 Subscription

September 18, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 39 Comments

Taste of Home Subscription
I’m always on the lookout for new recipes, and I find a lot of great ones in my Taste of Home magazine. I’ve never seen it priced this low, so I thought I’d share this offer so all my DSM foodies can get in on it!

Get a one-year Taste of Home subscription for just $2. The site mentions that it’s a weekly special, so I’m not sure exactly when it ends. I’d recommend ordering ASAP if you’re interested! New subscriptions only.

Thanks, Cindy!

A friend e-mailed me this deal last week Saturday. So, if it really is a “weekly” deal, it will be disappearing soon.

Has anyone ever ordered from this magazine company before and received their subscription? I’ve never heard of this company.

When I was teaching, I had a mom who gifted me this subscription for a year. It is fabulous! I am so excited about this deal. I never had any problems with my subscription when I extended it or cancelled it!

I ordered magazines from this company in the past and never received them. They do not have a contact number, so I tried to email them and they never responded.

Woman’s Day is $3. Checkout is through Google so I’m not concerned about it.

This is such an awesome deal! I’m not a new subscriber, so I can’t take advantage of it.

But …. If you haven’t subscribed to this magazine yet, DO IT NOW. It’s packed full of “real-life” recipes.

I’ve heard of Taste of Home, but never of “lowpricesubs” – my concern was specifically about that company, and if anyone had ordered a magazine through them and received it.

Thanks, Tara, for the contact info. I do find it interesting that their contact info is via gmail, rather than a company account. It makes me question this company even more. I am not saying this company is or is not legitimate, just pointing out the reasons I am questioning it right now and why I would like to hear from others who have purchased and received magazines from lowpricesubs.

I checked them out on the BBB and there are two listings. Both have an F rating.

I just placed my order. Since it is through Googlecheckout, I am not worried. We shall see whether I get the subscription or not. It is a great deal folks!

Search “lowpricesubs scam” on Google and you’ll find a multitude of complaints. They have two profiles with the Better Business Bureau that both have “F” ratings. The contention of the complaints is that the company does not fulfill most of the subscriptions, but few people complain because, well it “only $2.” I recommend you do some research before ordering.

I wish I would have read all of your comments before I purchased 2 of these subscriptions (one as a gift). Seems like this lowpricesubs.com company may be a little shady. I’m thinking of calling my credit card company and stopping the payment on this.

    Here is their BBB report:
    https://www.bbb.org/stlouis/business-reviews/magazine-sales-on-the-internet/lowpricesubscom-in-sullivan-mo-310283648

It looks like some people do not get their magazines.

I have received several free subscriptions from Lowpricesubs, including Weight Watchers, Blender, and Radar. I’ve never had a problem with them. Of course, I have never ordered one where you have to pay.

Well, I was about to order this, but glad I am getting advice to the contrary from some of you. I would love to have it, but it sounds a little fishy coming from this lowpricesubs.com. Thanks all!

I wish I’d read the comments first. I just placed an order, read the comments and just contacted my Credit Union. They told me they can’t cancel the payment because it wasn’t done under fraudulent circumstances (they didn’t steal my info) and I would have to contact the company to do that. Great.

I placed an order and then decided to read the comments. I was very unhappy with what some people said so I went back to my order confirmation page and it said I had 15 minutes to cancel my order and not get charged so I did cancel and it said that my order was cancelled and that my credit card would not be charged, so if anyone decides to read this after they order you can still cancel up to 15 minutes after you order.

I ordered it too (before reading the comments). I’m going to be optimistic about the outcome. I know sometimes when you go through a third party it takes a lot longer to get started, but does eventually. So I’m hoping that is what goes on here. (And at only $2/year, it’s not like I spent the whole $24/year.)

FYI on my google order page it lists the address of lowpricesubs as
    po box 246
    pilot knob MO 63663

I ordered 6 subscriptions for Christmas gifts and not one person got their’s yet. This can be a little embarrassing for me if they don’t get it and it already went through my credit card.
I also emailed them and never heard back from them.
I am still hoping that they will honor their committment and mail out the subscriptions.

I, too, ordered the “Taste of Home” for $2 prior to reading the reviews. Has anyone ordered via this special from lowpricesubs and actually GOTTEN a magazine yet?

I left my comment 10 days ago. Update; Not one of my 6 orders for Taste of Home was delivered. So much for it being an early Christmas gift.

I too have not received my Taste of Home subscription, nor have the 3 people who I ordered gift subscriptions for. I e-mailed the company but never received any response. I have just put in a dispute claim with my credit card company. Such a shame, as I was really looking forward to this magazine.

I RECEIVED MY FIRST COPY!! I had ordered the $2 subscription before reading all the negative comments, so I had just kind of accepted that I would never get it. But SURPRISE!! My first copy arrived yesterday – January 4, 2010. It is the Dec/Jan issue and has lots of yummy looking cake & cookie recipes! I had placed my order on Sept. 19, 2009…. so that means it took just about 3 1/2 months to receive my first issue. That’s slow, but it’s not unbelievably out of the ordinary. So don’t give up hope!
