Target: Two Barbie DVDs for $9.98

November 6, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 29 Comments

Barbie Movie Coupons
Kellie from Crazy Clippers just found this awesome deal on Barbie and the Three Musketeers and Barbie A Christmas Carol at Target!

Be sure to look for the Barbie Musketeers DVDs that have the Christmas Carol peelie on them, and you’ll need a Toys R Us ad for price matching purposes.

Barbie and the Three Musketeers, $9.99 (price match w/ TRU)
Barbie A Christmas Carol, $9.99 (price match w/ TRU)

Use (1) $5/1 Barbie A Christmas Carol peelie
Use (1) $5/1 Barbie Three Musketeers Target printables
Both just $9.98 after price match & coupons!

These would be a fantastic stocking stuffer. We already own both movies, and my girls adore them.

I see the Target $5.00 Barbie coupon but it doesn’t mention Barbie and the Three Musketeers DVD. Am I missing something?

It’s in the fine print when you print the coupon, Kelly.

Tamara, it’s a new policy that they started recently. You’ll need to take any price match purchases to the customer service counter to check out.

Tara, is it me or does that coupon look altered??

I went to crazy clippers site, and click on her direct link. It took me to the organic grocery deal. I printed the coupon and the description looked funny. As if something was typed over something else.

Went to HCW and printed it from there..same thing.

Then went to the direct target web coupon generator, printed the coupon and it looked much bigger and extremely clear, it did not mention the video at all.

It mentioned 3 musketeer dress, doll, or ballon carraige only.

It also is the same coupon sku number as the HCW and other site organic grocery deal (so its the same coupon without the video description as an item coupon is eligible for)). And the patent number on the original target coupon does not have the same patent number as the video, but does have the numbers that match the other products.

Maria, I found it on HCW, too & it looks distorted. But if you look at the promotional code on the coupon generated by Target and HCW, they are different. I tried both promo codes on the Target website at checkout (I didn’t buy the DVD, just checking the codes) and the one from HCW took the $5.00 off. I’m going to try this at Target in the morning!

I don’t believe it’s altered. There are numerous coupons like that because they made the coupon terms too large to fit the coupon. The coupon that you printed from Target.com is actually a different coupon. The one you want is the one that is valid on the Barbie: Style Salon play set OR Glamour Camper OR So-in-Style doll OR Barbie and Three Musketeers DVD.

No, it’s not counterfit. I did this at the Target in Hampton,VA on Wednesday. I price matched the 3 Muskateers DVD with the TRU toy book, got it for 9.99 then I used to printable from the Target coupon generator. Some of the writing on it comes up skewed behind other words but it’s in there and the coupon works at the register. (I use those generated coupons a LOT, they always work) Then there’s a peelie coupon on the 3 Muskateers DVD for $5.00 off certain other titles, I can’t remember all of them but we ended up with Barbie Fairytopia or something… well those DVDs are on the side of the electronics area and the whole section was only $4.75 each so I got the 3 Musk for $4.99 and the Fairytopia for free. YAY!

What TRU ad is this in? I went to Target with the TRU thick ad that was mailed recently and was told by a manager that they wouldn’t honor the price match because it was considered a “toy catalog”, not an “ad” and that they didn’t have to price match anything whose sale price was for less or more than one week. She said, “That’s been the most common misconception recently with the price matching – People think they can use the toy catalogs.” I thought that was ridiculous! I’m sure it depends on the cashier you get (mine didn’t know how to do a price match, so she called the manager who rejected me), but is this really in Target’s fine print about price matching? She said, “Like if it was a two day sale, we wouldn’t honor that either.” but a one-month sale? Seriously? It’s not like it was a black friday steal or anything…. It was for $4 off a 24.99 item! Anyway, just wondering your thoughts on that…

Here is the link to Target’s price match policy. Sounds like some stores need to be made aware of their own policy!

Yeah Melissa, that’s the right one, it’s on page 43a under the big dollhouse. Teeny tiny off to the right. Took me a while to find, I even had my daughter check for me and she couldn’t find it. Silly that it’s not with the other DVDs.

I generally go through the regular check-out and get the items use my coupons, then go up to guest service for the adjustment. It generally has worked faster that way for me then going straight up there.
Melissa- They price match any advertised price… I took a Meijer paper there with one of the toys in it last week… it was an Everyday Value… so that means it wasn’t on sale and Target honored it.
Also all Target are required to price match because it is Target corporate policy I believe.

I went to Target today and did this deal. Worked perfectly, thanks so much Tara, I am so excited for my little girl to open these on Christmas day, she loves her Barbie videos.
Also, I just gave the cashier a heads up that I was going to keep the videos in my cart so that I could price match at CS after I was done with my other purchases. He said that he could do the price match for me right there at the register. I think they have started to train their cashiers because so many of us are taking advantage of the price matching.
And, I read on Hip to Save that you could use the code in the DVD to get a $5 coupon for any Barbie product (w/ a $14.99 value or higher). I did it when I got home and the back button printed multiples for me, although they all have the same bar code so I’m not sure about using multiples. I am going to match this with the $5 Musketeers Barbie Target coupon to get the doll to go with the DVD. I checked the dolls today and the turquoise one in my store was on a price cut for $19.99. So that’s only $9.99 after the coupons, great deal for a really nice Barbie!!! So excited!!!

Do you think they’d price match with the printed page of the big book online? I don’t have the BB and the closest TRU is 1.5 hours away.

I like to print my target coupons at the store, but I was at target today, and was unable to find and print this coupon from their registry computer. Where is it hidden in their website? It is not in the usual coupon section…

I’m a little curious about the coupon, too, same as Kelly and Maria. When I look at the coupon on the HCW generator, it’s a little distorted, and when I look at all of the coupons available directly on the Target site, it does not mention the DVD. The big clue for me: the movie title is misspelled on the coupon in the generator (“Muskateers” instead of the correct “Musketeers”). What’s up, ladies? I’m all for a good deal, but not for coupon fraud…

PS – I looked at my Target today for the Musketeers DVDs with the Christmas Carol peelies and couldn’t find any! All of the Musketeer DVDs had a ‘pink ticket’ peelie on them, and all of the Christmas Carol DVDs had peelies for $5 off a list of movies, but the peelie expired 12/31/2008 (yes, 2008!). :(

I’m thinking that Target altered the coupon after the fact. The coupons were released on the site before the books were actually available in the store and did say that they were valid on the DVD. However, all of the books with just the coupons in the store were missing the center page that had this coupon on it. When I got the actual toy catalog in the paper the other day, the page that shows all the toys for this coupon does show the DVD, but it says in fine print that the coupon does not include the DVD.

So I guess it’s up to everyone’s moral compass as to whether or not to use it. It was originally available for use on it. Now it seems they’ve changed their minds, but it does still work without beeping as far as I know.

And please note that I was not aware of any of this when I originally posted. I just noticed it when I was at the store last night and forgot about it until this post was bumped with Lexa’s comment.

What accounts are established will depend on your location.
If you can link to your contact page from other pages in your
site, this is a good link. As you scout around for SEO services, you may wonder what sets one company’s SEO services apart
    from another’s.
