I did this today before I even saw this post. I was so excited to get a $5 giftcard, 5 candles, and $5 rebate. What a great deal. I will be heading back to do it again WITHOUT the kids this time. :0)

There are coupons in Woman’s Day and Better Homes and Gardens that would go nicely with this deal. They are the November issues.

My Price Chopper has the blinkie for the free refil WYB candle tin. 78th & State Ave in Kansas City, KS. Also noticed when I got to Target, not all tins had coupons, like people were taking coupons, and not buying the tins. : (

It’s not an advertised deal, Stephenie. My store had the sale tags up last night, but if yours doesn’t, scan one at the U-Scan and it should indicate that there’s a GC deal along with the price.

I’m new to using coupons so I was SO excited about this deal!

The holiday candles were not located in the regular Glade section in my Target-had to search. They were on an end cap. And they didn’t have the entire selection of holiday scents. (In the tins and refills they only had one scent-and there weren’t even spaces for the other ones! *?*)

Used 10 buy a holder get a refill free coupons
    Used 10 1.50 off a product coupon

Paid 10 up front, got handed 10 in Target gift cards, and can do three P&G rebates worth $5 each! :D (I’m going to have to call and ask about this one b/c it says you have to mail in the original receipt, but it also says that your up to three rebates all have to be mailed in separately-I did mine all within’ one transaction.) Worst case scenario, I made five bucks and got a ton of stuff! :D

I have a question: The cashier pointed out that the buy a holder get a refill free coupon said one per transaction… she still let me use one on each tin… I’m just wondering, what is the actual POLICY on that sort of thing? It seems like some ppl ignore it. Other ppl enforce.

I just wish people wouldn’t snag all of the coupons out of all the tins so that other shoppers could receive the discounts too.

Shouldn’t Regina have recieved $20 in gift cards since she purchased 20 items.

Technically, I only purchased the ten candle holder tins-the ten refills were free! (Because of the 10 buy holder, get refill free coupons.)

Okay, I feel annoying for leaving so many posts… now that I read the original post… it DOES seem like I’d have gotten $20 in gift cards. I didn’t but, I’m not going to complain. It’s an awesome deal either way. :)

I just assumed that b/c technically I hadn’t paid for ten of them that it wouldn’t count toward the gift cards.

I have the same question as Regina. I was told I couldn’t use it because of the wording on the Q, “One coupon per purchase”. Lots of people are using it this way, and as long as the cashier doesn’t notice/enforce it, it’s working fine, but does Target get reimbursed for those if they didn’t abide by the fine print of the coupon?

    Thanks for any help, Tara!

You may only earn 2 GCs per transaction on a particular deal, so Regina would have needed to break her items up into two transactions to receive all 4 GCs.

As far as the coupon, I was not aware that there is one per transaction wording on it. That’s pretty unusual for a manufacturer’s coupon. I haven’t printed it, so can someone that has please verify the wording?

If it says one per purchase, then it’s okay to use several in a transaction. One per purchase is basically the same as one per item. However, one per transaction means you may only use one total. So you’d need to break your purchases up into multiple transactions to use a coupon with this wording, but this would defeat the purpose of earning the GCs in this instance.

    I hope that makes sense . . .

“One per purchase” means that you can only use the one coupon per item – the candle tin or the refill. It doesn’t say on the coupon that it is only one per transaction (I have the refill Q in front of me, all it says is 1 per purchase). So the way that it was used by Regina is fine. Target will get reimbursed because the coupon was used correctly.
Regina should have received $20 in GCs. She purchased 20 items – and should have received a $5 GC for every 5 items purchased even if the manufacturer is who paid for the refills (since they were free with Q). The Target register should have been prompted to do a GC after every 5 Glade items were entered. However, it is only the holiday ones that prompt the GC – there are 2 smells – Apple cinnamon and Bay berry. If you buy the regular Glade smells – it will not prompt the GC.
    HTH :)

If your store have blinkies the Glade Qs should be pulled by this weekend. So hurry and get those Qs.

I haven’t found that there is a limit to the number of GC’s you can do in a transaction. I have only done enough for 2 in one transaction for this deal. Other deals in the past I have done more than 2 in a transaction.

Well, I just went to print the coupons and it will only let me print 2. I even tried entering another e-mail address so it must know my computer. Anyone else not able to print more than 2?

I’m SO glad you clarified one per transaction VS one per purchase-that’ll be a huge help in the future! (If ppl are willing to listen.) I felt like I was doing something wrong. :(

ALSO, b/c the selection was SO limited at my store-I ended up having to buy 6 refills that were NOT holiday scents… which explains why I only got two gift cards!

PS/There was a blinkie filled with” buy a holder, get a refill free” (Up to 3.99) coupons at KMart today, right beside the Glade products. :D

That’d def. help with this promo!

Lisa, how do you know when they will pull the blinkies? Just curious. Also, if anyone got those glass candle holders that came in the square box, they have $2 off any scented oil candle holder, which the tin is. They also have Buy 2 refills get 1 free coupons in them so with this deal, you can get 2 tins and 3 refills with 2 $2 coupons, 2 Buy the tin, get the refill and then the buy 2 refills get 1 free. Pay $1 get $5 back.

Ok, thanks everyone! I spoke to several people, including managers at my Target, and they insisted that “one per purchase” meant one per transaction. I guess I’ll just go to a different store next time, I just wanted to make sure I was following the rules :)

I did 20 items in one transaction and I receive 4 gift card even when I use coupon for free refill when you buy holder. Cashier has to issue a gift card after 5 items scanned otherwise he can scan next item. Some cashiers don’t even bother checking for price of refill and they taking 3.99 $ off instead 2.50$ .

Do you know if it has to say “Holiday” on the package for it to be considered part of the GC deal? The reason I ask is because I saw several Apple Cinnamon refills but they didn’t have the holiday packaging so I didn’t get them.
