Sweep! For Entering Sweepstakes

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

Even though I’ve won some really great prizes over the years, I’ve kind of slacked off on entering a lot of sweepstakes, especially the daily entry type, because it’s a lot of work to keep them organized, as well as to remember to enter them. I happened across Sweep! earlier this week, and it looks like it’s going to be a great tool. It organizes your entries and reminds you when it’s time to enter.

  • Simple one, two, three method to enter sweepstakes!
  • Sweep comes with hundreds of sweeps and freebies!
  • Works great with the browser you already have!
  • You decide how and when to enter what sweepstakes!
  • Sweep is completely free forever! No hidden costs!

It’s working well for me so far, and I hope it works for you!

First Look Kids: Free Kids’ Books!!!

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 6 Comments

I’ve been an avid reader since the age of four when I learned to read my first book (and all-time kids’ fav), The Little Red Hen. I’ve always tried to encourage reading with my own kids, and we’ve amassed quite a collection of books, but there’s always room for one more!

So I was super excited when I found out about Harper Collins First Look program for kids. Simply register here, and Harper Collins will notify you by email when they have new books available for review. They have four up for grabs currently. This is the first I’ve heard of it, so I just registered myself, but I found a lot of positive feedback in my research of it. I’ll be sure to post again after we’ve reviewed a few books to add details on the whole process.

Walmart Corporate Coupon Policy

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 346 Comments

This is definitely useful information to be aware of. If you’d like to print it off so you can carry it with you (as I always do!), here’s a direct link to the Walmart corporate coupon policy.

Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

  • Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
  • Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
  • Store coupons
  • Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
  • Internet coupons
  • Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:

  • Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
  • Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Walmart will not accept expired coupons.
  • Internet coupons should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon.” There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
  • Only one coupon per item is permitted.
  • Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

Although it’s not explicitly stated here, in my experience, if your total savings are more than 50% off your total purchase price, your transaction will require approval by a Customer Service manager as well.

Tons of Free Magazines at AdPerk

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 4 Comments

Have you heard about AdPerk? They have a great system for earning free subscriptions to magazines. You simply select the magazine that you are interested in, watch a few advertising videos, and you earn credits toward a subscription. You do have to watch the video through to the end, because you need to enter a code to receive credit for it, but it only takes around 15-20 minutes to earn some great free subscriptions.

Right now they have available: Ode, Popular Science, Good Housekeeping (one of my favs because of the coupon insert), Skiing, and Field & Stream. Also, if you’re in the Los Angeles area they’re currently offering a free pass to the Dwell on Design exhibition. I’m totally jealous, because I’d love to go to this.

I recommend adding this site to your favorites and checking back frequently, because they have a ton of subscriptions that will be available soon, including Alternative Medicine, Cosmopolitan, CosmoGirl, Country Living, Dwell, Esquire, Golf, Marie Claire, and Smart Money!

$1.50 off Select Senseo Pods + Possible FREE Senseo Machine

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 28 Comments

The free (with $15 shipping) Senseo machine offer has made its rounds many times. If you haven’t registered to try and take advantage of it, I highly recommend giving it a shot. I was lucky enough to get one about two years ago, and I’ve got to tell you – I seriously heart my Senseo! I’d go out and buy a new one in a heartbeat if it ever broke down.

If you already have a Senseo, there’s a printable $1.50/1 Select Senseo pods coupon available now. It’s valid on any European-style blend or the Origin blends (Brazil, Sumatra, Kenya, and Colombia). I usually buy the Dark Roast, but I’m dying to try the new Cafe Noir! My good friend Shaina highly recommends the Sumatra blend.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
